Smoke Nazis Roll Over Pipe Smokers Convention, Individual Rights

SMOKE NAZIS On the March in: Chicago

Smoke Nazis in the Chicago area rolled over the right of free association, when they forced attendees to the Chicagoland International Pipe and Tobacciana Show to go outside to smoke.

At the Chicagoland International Pipe & Tobacciana Show in St. Charles, IL, attendees have been told that, due to a statewide smoking ban that went into effect in January, they may not light up even though theirs is a private gathering of only willing participants. This, despite the fact that the conventioneers bent over backwards to try to reach an accommodation.
There was a time--years in the past--when one could volunteer for the American Cancer Society fund raisers without feeling like a fascist. Now, the ACS is one of the leading components of the Nanny State.

Mike Grady, the ACS's Illinois director of public policy, illustrated the Cancer Society's belief that they are on the side of right--and your rights be damned.

"This is the first time we've seen such a blatant attempt . . . to actually undermine the law through legal sophistry. We're very happy with the outcome. This is the perfect example that the law is being enforced."
Some officials are more insufferable than--cancer?

At least in Illinois, the smoking ban was passed by the legislature and signed by the governor. They can be held accountable for their actions in the next election.

In many locales, smoking bans are administered by Health Departments and Health Boards: groups of unelected officials who can write citations, levy fines and, in some cases, order jail time for offenders. In these cases, voters have no recourse.

I know you are, but what am I?

Obviously illiterate, since you are incapable of comprehending a simple sentence.

Nazis all! And the people that voted them in, Nazis too! I mean, it's not like this is a poisonous product that clogs our morgues, hospitals and nursing homes. Oh wait, nevermnd. It is.

Government tyranny has clogged more morgues and hospitals than tobacco ever could. At least with tobacco, I can choose whether or not I want to take the risk. Tyranny, unfortunately, does not allow one to opt out.

I know you are, feeding them kids roadkill week after week, but what am I?

A control-freak neo-Nazi victim, rescuable only by government action and intervention.

Thanks for the reply, and I do see your point.

Has anyone ever heard figures about the number of people who DO NOT smoke who get lung cancer?

It would be an intersting statistic

Thanks for the reply, and I do see your point. Has anyone ever heard figures about the number of people who DO NOT smoke who get lung cancer? It would be an interesting statistic.

The percentage of lung cancer patients who have never smoked is approximately 10%.

Each year, over 170,000 Americans develop lung cancer, and approximately ten per cent of lung cancers, or 17,000 cases, occur in non-smokers.

I salute you. It takes a special type of person to consistently and proudly expose his open running sores for the whole world to see and wonder at.

I'm sorry that your mother never loved you. Surely if she had, she would have sought treatment for you early on while there was still hope that you could live a normal life.

Why don't you yell upstairs and ask her about it?

I too am sorry that you had a mother that abandoned you at a tiny age, if not physically then psychologically, and it has left you with a wicked disposition and a foul mouth with a weed hanging out of it most times to calm your frazzled, abandoned-induced panic-stricken nerves.

This is a tiny bit better than "I know what I am, but what are u" but you still have a lot of work to do.

Was it spending prom night alone putting together the model airplanes or the cumulative effect of the glue that led to your condition?

Hubby and I just returned from Vegas where hubby was actually allowed to enjoy a cigar with his adult beverage with other like-minded adults. And no one was whining or complaining. It was great being around happy adults.

“prom night alone”

Funny, I must have this fantasy memory of taking a junior named Michelle, easily one of the most beautiful girls I’ve ever laid eyes on, the kind of breathtaking beauty most guys are afraid to approach.

Then the band played “Michelle” by the Beatles and nothing more had to be said.

Ah but all a fantasy. I was home with little missy subterfuge aka Madame subterfuge, screwing models together. Or did we use glue? Have a smoke. Make it 30 feet from any door entrance, tho. Nazis have been at work all over this area. Achtung! Madame subterfuge!

There's hope yet. Your reptilian mind can still recognize the concept of "fantasy."

Anyway, you've become tiresome, as always.

So in the name of human decency, and to spare you further embarrassment, I'll let you get back to your project (hope you kept good track of the decals) so that in some small way you can feel validated.

Sounds great!! I just got home from an afternoon spent with my dad driving him around. He is going blind and cant drive himself anymore.

Afterwards, my brother wanted me to stop over. He was getting ready for a garage sale tomorrow. We ended up sittin on the patio, smoking cigars and listening to blues music. It was fun just sitting around, having a beer and shooting the breeze.

Another brother and his wife love going to Vegas. They make it down there quite often.

Why would non-smokers go to this convention if only to find sales,
and sales to smokers at that. Just give them leather whips so they can
beat the guilt out of their backsides.
