KIDDIE-PORN CHIC: BEYONCE'S TINY HO'S
nypost.com ^ | May 14, 2008 | Michelle Malkin

IF you thought the soft-porn image of Disney teen queen Miley Cyrus - wearing nothing but ruby-stained lips and a bedsheet - in Vanity Fair magazine was disturbing, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Pop diva Beyonce Knowles, 27, and her fashion-designer mother have launched a girls' clothing line that makes Miley's bare-backed glam session look like a Shirley Temple photo shoot.

The Knowles' family business, "House of Dereon," recently published ads for its "Dereon Girls Collection" with young models who look no older than my second-grade daughter. They are seductively posed and tarted up, JonBenet Ramsey-style, with lipstick, blush and face powder.

Draped in bling, several girls sport leather jackets and studded accessories.

One child wears sparkly, high heels (more pint-size Pussycat Doll than Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz") and another slouches, gangsta gal-style, with a neon-pink boa, leopard-skin fedora and stilettos.

As the mother of a five year old girl, I have to say -- I find this stuff is tacky and ugly more than sexually innapropriate.

My main concern, regarding the heels, is that they're awfully hard to walk in. Lots of sprained ankles, leg injuries. Stilettos are dangerous enough for adult feet, let alone growing kid feet. But honestly, I really doubt they'll be big sellers.

Maybe I've just given up at this point, but at least they're covered up. I've seen kids as young as this in belly shirts and short shorts. Sad.

I love Michelle Malkin, but she really should consider buying larger panties. The ones she has on now obviously bunch up too easily.

I have a seven year old daughter and I'm so funny about stuff like that, I won't allow her to have "Bratz" dolls.

But this looks like much ado about nothing.

Are either of you mothers with small daughters who will come running into the kitchen to show you this clothing in a magazine and say, “Mommy, can I get that? I like that”?

I'm a father. But I'd just say... No.

And that's all I've got to say about that!

The 50s and most of the 60s were decidedly safer. Kids left the house unchaperoned and stayed out all day long. I never knew of a single incident where any kid in town was taken or harmed. I know of more than a few in the past twenty years.

A lot of folks who weren't there just can't accept that there were really was a 'good old days'.

I am not a mother, as I am a man. I have two children, both boys, 4 and 1.

But on the first picture post, the kids in that ad are wearing far more clothes than 95% of the ads for kids clothes I see in magazines, catalogs, and the ads stuffed in the Sunday paper. Other than their hands and face, you can't see any skin.

Kiddie porn? Hardly.

I'm your vehicle baby
I'll take you anywhere you wanna go
I'm your vehicle woman
By now I'm sure you know

That I love ya (love you)
Need ya (need you)
I want to, got to have you child
Great God in heaven, you know I love you

Well if you want to be a movie star
I got the ticket to Hollywood
Well if you want to stay just like you are
You know I think you really should

I'm your vehicle baby
I'll take you anywhere you wanna go

At least they are WEARING clothes. Smiley Virus was half naked and other non Vanity Fair photos of her exposing her bra.
Since my niece watched Hannah Montana, I am quite peeved.

I’m more concerned about the slippery-slope aspect of it than anything else. These clothes don’t look all that bad, but once they become the acceptable norm, the push will be on to make them racier and more revealing.

How far back do you want to go? 20 years? 80 years? 100 years?

Put the girls in ankle length swim suits?

I think Michelle and others might be overreacting a little.

Nothing new there... She's what I call a "niche pundit," whose chief audience is of the more "alarmist" variety.

You know, if you don’t have a problem with little girls dressed up like miniature whores on a pedophile catwalk, might I suggest you go down your moral checklist again. You ain’t hittin’ on all cylinders if something like this doesn’t bother you or suggesting that they go the other extreme as well and put them in ankle swimsuits. You appear to not have a balance. Good day to you.

I like Michelle, but she can be a sour puss at times. I’m pretty darn prudish, and she out prudes me.

I was a parent of a daughter. When she asked for things I didn’t think she should have, I said “No.” What’s the problem?

The kids are dressed ghetto, but they aren’t dressed like whores.

Whores are known to wear catholic schoolgirl uniforms, should we admonish parents for letting their little girls go to Catholic School?

How about we dress them in modest clothes and stop trying to sexualize them?

They’re children, for God’s sake. Let them enjoy childhood while they have it and stop trying to dress them as trashy adults.

Jeezus.

who’s sexualizing them?
Perverts are going to get turned on by kids regardless of what they are wearing.

If you see a bunch of mini-hookers in that picture, that’s your problem.

My original post dealt with the next logical steps in this type of dress - no where did I say that I saw 'mini-hookers'. I specifically noted that I didn't think these clothes looked all that bad. I was more concerned with the progression to sluttier clothing that would inevitably happen if this kind of dress becomes widely accepted for children.

And as a Parent of a 3 year-old girl, I do consider it my problem, thank-you very much.
