What the heck's going on in Austria? Why didn't he kill his broker or a lawyer instead?

A perfect case for the death penalty.
No chance of error.

“After trying and failing to hang himself, he turned himself in.”
Gee, he was pretty good at dispatching five innocent family members. He couldn’t figure out how to off himself?
Since he can’t get the death penalty in Austria, I hope his remaining life is one of ceaseless torment.

...police found a brand-new axe...The story is fishy. If he went broke as it says, then how could he afford a brand-new axe?

First the dungeon master who kidnapped a little girl for ten years, then the dungeon master who raped his own daughter and imprisoned his offspring for twenty years, now this freak who whacks his whole family.
What's up with Austria?
For a country whose whole population is about the size of NYC they certainly have their quotient of whackjobs.

Clearly we need microstamping and blade locks for axes. They should be stored unsharpened in an approved safe.
