Calif. referendum on gay marriage expected

SAN FRANCISCO - The California Supreme Court ruling legalizing gay marriage will not be the last word. California voters will almost certainly hold a referendum on a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage in November, and for the first time anywhere in the U.S., the vote will have a direct and immediate effect on gay couples waiting to tie the knot. The amendment needs a simple majority to pass, and if the voters reject gay marriage, their decision will supersede the high court’s. There are signs the contest’s outcome will be close.

Hardly. It wasn't close in any other state its been on the ballot. The MSM as usual are full of it!

why do we have to vote again on something we as voters already decided once? the judiciary will just make up new rules if they don’t like the outcome anyhow.. they already legislate from the bench..

What’s the point of a referendum? This current ruling overturned the will of 62% of CA’s electorate. The will of the people is relevant only when they vote the right way for the Libs. Something must be done about activist judges subverting Democracy and it must be done quickly.

Marxism is our nation's most serious enemy. The homosexual agenda is part of the effort to destroy all freedom. Government schools are their **most** important weapon.

We can survive a nuclear suitcase bomb. Freedom will **not** survive if the Marxists ( and their useful idiots, the homosexuals) succeed in indoctrinating the next generation of voters.

If we are to win against the Marxists we **MUST** get our kids out of government schools. We **MUST** close down every government school in this nation.

The question is, how many limp-wristed republicans will be intimidated into voting for the homosexual position? Gutless swine are the order of the day in California. We’ll find out in November if California is still one of the 50 states.

I saw SF Mayor-Gavin “any twosome” Newsom on the news yesterday.

That man is an disgrace. Heaven help us if he decides to go national and run for president.

No FRiend, this won't be the tipping point. But, the usurpations continue apace, and our elected rulers have forgotten the lessons of history.

There WILL be a Second American Revolution: the only questions remaining are when, what is the final usurpation, and just how bloody will it get?

They are busily trying to disarm us to prevent any action against their abominable disregard for the citizens.

Actually, it was close in Arizona, where a proposed ban lost in 2006 by 51% to 49%. And Arizona is a much more conservative state than California. Yikes!

I think it was caught up in the anti-GOP backlash in 2006. Its back on the ballot this November. Fingers crossed for a different result this fall.

Likely killed, FRiend, but I'll not be "rounded up and exterminated". History has shown that once the rounding up starts, it is past time to fight.

I'll not be "sent to the showers" like Europe's Jews.

If they want me, it WILL be a fight. At that point -
