I pushed this to our news anchor this morning...he's a HUGE moonbat for the global warming theory...he's also totally fo gun control, higher taxes, abortion, and all the usual lib stuff. He does have to listen and use what I give him though so he's pretty fair.

He did get me on one point though. The Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine is NOT affiliated with the NAS or a university. It apparently has only one paid member.

Given all that it shouldn't matter where the petition started but the qualifications of the people who signed it and if they stand behind it.

I'm trying to get a couple of the local signers to do a Sunday morning half hour show "Pittbsurgh Focus" with our anchor and see what happens. It could be interesting. It could be that they now don't support it or signed on a whim and that would mean our newsanchor would be one up on me. Something that doesn't usually happen.

Some references I left out of my reply...

http://www.oism.org/

http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Oregon_Institute_of_Science_and_Medicine

the listing directly above - Sourcewatch.org is VERY damning. I have to run but when I get the chance I want to source "sourcewatch.org.

And from Wikipedia FWIW

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oregon_Institute_of_Science_and_Medicine

If this turns out to be a bust I'm gonna have to eat a LOT of Left Wing, Liberal, Moonbat crow...sigh>
