The President’s veto should be sustained (unfortunately it probably won’t be) for all the reasons noted. However, people should bear in mind that 70% of the money in the bill goes to nutrition programs, not agriculture. Don’t blame the price tag all on the farmers.

Thanks for that. I really don't know much about this bill but now I see. Welfare raise attached to a farm welfare bill. Well most of the farmers I have known work their A$$es off. So I don't begrudge them all that much.

And another 20% goes to CRP and conservation programs,
you know the greenie crap. \Along with 70% food stamps
that is 90% farms don’t get as most of conservation related
stuff like CRP goes to those who don’t farm anymore.
And the so-called increase in sudsidies is just raising
support levels if prices crash, as the prices now
are above support levels.Ed
