Appeasers and Bullies

WASHINGTON -- Poor Neville Chamberlain. The long deceased British prime minister -- remembered through the decades for his policy of appeasement and for the war with Hitler that it hastened -- now suffers yet another disgrace. The mere mention of "appeasement" apparently sets off paranoid tantrums amongst members of the political class. Once deemed a very enlightened tool of statecraft, appeasement has become a slur, a hate term. Speaking before the Israeli Knesset, President George W. Bush associated appeasement with those who "believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along." Kapow! The Democrats went on the offensive, though they had

Leftists and dhimmirats all believe that their superiorness entitles and obligates them to make decisions for the entire society.

They also believe that their wisdom exceeds all the accumulated wisdom of everyone that has ever lived throughout history.

So why wouldn’t they believe that they could come up with some ingenious argument to disuade Islamists and maniacal dictators from being hostile?

Didn’t Chamberlain eventually accept that appeasement was deathly wrong?

Yes, he came to his senses, finally. Jimmah Cahtah, on the other hand, continues to be completely senseless.
Obama knows nothing and suspects nothing.

The European’s and the Russian’s have already offered an appeasement package to Iran and been turned down.
There were economic stimulii..nuc fuel production..and energy industry help. None of it worked. If Hussein Osbama offers them Israel..or just the jews..maybe that will work.
This idiot needs to be stopped. All you pissed conservatives better not piss in your own boot and elect him.

He did have much time to reflect since he died in November 1940, after having seen France and most of Western Europe fall and Britain under the blitz as a result of his appeasement policy.

Though it’s been infrequently mentioned during the outcry against the President’s remarks, appeasement is not simply the technique of giving concessions to an enemy in the hope he’ll be satisfied. It’s also refusing to acknowledge the enemy’s intent, putting off the inevitable and giving the enemy time to grow to invincible proportions.

If we assume that Obambi is the next president I have a two questions for him:

1) can we actually blame him for the next islamic terrorist attack on the US after he releases the detainees at Gitmo and one of them blows up the target of his choice, or would that be racist.

2) can we actually blame him when the economy falls into a major recession/depression after he raises taxes to unseen heights and in reaction to question #1, or would that be racist.

Just like it was with a local councilwoman here in KC -

any criticism of any black politician is racist.

When Chamberlain was meeting with Hitler he was already quite ill...perhaps that colored his judgement?

I think people are too harsh on Chamberlain. If you ever get to watch the famous moment where he waved that useless note from the german government and famously declared “peace in our time”, he sounds like a complete idiot - with the benefit of hindsight. BUT, just listen to everyone cheer when he did that. He wasnt the only one who was an appeaser. He just got to carry the can for everyone else who put peace in front of honor

When Hitler invaded Poland, Chamberlain realized he had been had and recalled Winston Churchill to come in as First Lord of the Admiralty.

Subsequently, Churchill became Prime Minister.

Chamberlain died early in the war.

Yes, unlike Neville Obama and our current Demagogues, at least Chamberlain figured out by Sept. 1939 that he’d been had. He brought Churchill back into the govt. as First Lord of the Admiralty (overseeing the Royal Navy) and Churchill’s role grew from there. Of course by that point WWII was well underway. Chamberlain died in Nov. 1940.

Neville Obama, OTOH, still hasn’t learned anything about not sucking up to depraved fascist dictators.
