Sick Immigrants May Be Forced Out of the U.S. -- Woman in Coma the Latest Example
EmpowHer ^

ABC News

Hundreds of legal and illegal immigrants in Arizona are being sent back to their home countries, sometimes against their will, for medical treatment because they lack insurance.

In some cases, the FBI and police, responding to allegations of kidnapping, have been called in to halt such forcible removals, according to patients' lawyers. In one recent case, a sick baby who is a U.S. citizen born to an illegal immigrant was being transferred by helicopter to a waiting air ambulance for a flight to a hospital in Mexico when Tucson police intervened and brought the child back to the hospital.

GOOD

We have enough uninsured legal citizens who need help.

If I had my way, I would station ICE agents at every major hospital that took public funds. These agents would verify the immigration status of anyone who lacks means to pay before they receive care should they not require emergency treatment and immediately deport those who cannot prove they are in the USA legally.

If a person needed emergency care, the check would come after the care was rendered, as long as court rulings mandating emergency care are in place.

Hell yes it is and while we are at it we can pay for those ill people from Latvia, Malawi, Libya, Jordan and anyone else who wants to come in. We have more than enough money growing on the trees so it shouldn’t be a probem.

Good Lord, we go on and on and on about this.

Will anybody ever shame the many thousands of American tourists who go to Mexico every hour into realizing that their $$ support that foul kleptocracy? We had concerts and daily dinosaur media shaming to assure the overthrow of the Evil White People in South Africa. Where are those voices now? Huh? Anyone? Anyone?

Ask any doctor or nurse who works in a hospital in a border state. It is common practice for Mexican immigrants to bring their sick relatives across the border and dump them in American hospitals, from which, by current law, they cannot be removed.

If these patients are chronically ill, they cannot be discharged, ever, and each of them costs the hospital millions.

Hundreds of legal and illegal immigrants

I call b.s. on this. The U.S. is not deporting legal immigrants.

Its about time. You and I can't get medical care for free and it makes no sense foreigners should be afforded a level of service Americans can't get. If someone in mortal danger, stabilize their condition and send them home. If they can't pay, bill their home country for the costs. The illegal free ride on our health care system ought to be over!

'Nother MSM "Undocumented Immigrants Are Unfairly Victimized" sob story. If only they would report the truth instead of making us feel guilty about our country.

Some Americans travel to Mexico for medical care because it is less expensive.

When Americans travel to Mexico for medical care- they pay for thier own care. Trust me- the Mexican people are not expected to pay for the medical bills for Americans. Nor would they be willing to.

There was an ambulance at my neighbor’s house. I asked him what was going on, he told me that his mother-in-law was having an asthma attack and that because they don’t have insurance that this was the best way to get her help. Mind you these people all drive new expensive cars.

I have had fantastic times in Cabo and Cozumel. Never again, though — at least without a major sea change in their government. Won’t give one more (increasingly devalued) dollar to that country by choice.

This appears a deliberate, dark ploy to pit pro-lifers against U.S. sovereignty...the underlying pitch is ‘beware racist eugenics’ ...

If Mexico is such a fine country (not in need of a Boston Tea Party) then where are its hospitals? Where are its universities?

Inquiring taxpayer minds want to know.

You need to go down to McAllen and Brownsville, Texas. Mexican ambulances bring Mexican women who are in labor across the border to have their anchor babies in American hospitals. We open the gates for them, a quick ambulance inspection and off they go to deliver their American paycheck to the family.

and your point is really the crux of the matter. Americans can’t get medical care because of illegals (what is wrong with this picture???). I know these other countries wouldn’t turn away their own to help us.

If enough people took this position, I think it would make a huge statement. I’m surprised we didn’t think of it before - If Americans refused to travel to Mexico on all of their pleasure trips until Mexico made some efforts to keep their people IN their country, I think it might make a dent but people never want to make even small sacrifices for the greater good... at least nowadays.... in the old days they would, but no more.

We have insurance, and I will take an ambulance to an emergency hospital rather than just walk in. There are too many diseases out there that we as Americans wiped out years ago. The illegals are bringing those diseases back in infecting everyone in the ER who are already sick.

Ask any doctor or nurse who works in a hospital in a border state.

Not just border states either!

They are also bringing contagious diseases to the U. S. that we thought were under control years ago.

On May 9, hours away from being flown to a small hospital in Honduras, where Del Cid no longer has any family or friends except for an elderly father, her lawyer filed a temporary restraining order preventing the move. Family and friends raised money through car washes, and received significant financial assistance from dozens of trial lawyers in Arizona, to pay the $20,000 bond ordered by a local judge.

The Del Cid woman has SEVEN CHILDREN and she is only 34 years old?! And, that is the reason she was in the hospital initially...having another baby!

John Curtin, lawyer for the family, said that the hospital is trying to do something that the government of the United States, can't do: to send her to Honduras
