Obama Grilled on Ties to Pro-Palestinian Professor

Obama Grilled on Ties to Pro-Palestinian Professor by FOXNews.com Thursday, May 22, 2008

A persistent questioner at a campaign stop Thursday grilled Barack Obama on his ties to a professor with pro-Palestinian views, prompting Obama to speak at some length against “guilt by association” and about his support for the Jewish community.

The at-times heated exchange occurred during a town hall event held at a synagogue in Boca Raton, Fla. The questioner focused on Obama’s relationship to Rashid Khalidi, a professor of Arab studies at Columbia University who has drawn fire for some of his criticisms of Israel.

Obama responded by saying he has met Khalidi and spoken with him in an academic context, when Obama was teaching at the University of Chicago.

“He is not one of my advisers. He’s not one of my foreign policy people,” Obama said. “He is a respected scholar, although he vehemently disagrees with a lot of Israel’s policy.”

Obama then objected to the suggestion that his contacts with Khalidi mean he shares Khalidi’s views.

“Part of my philosophy … is I believe in listening to people even when I disagree with them,” Obama said. “And part of the reason that the Jewish community in Chicago is so close to me is because they know that on many occasions I’ve spoken out vigorously against anti-Semitism, even in my own community, even when it’s not convenient.

Much more than some rare "academic context"...... I'll try to dig up the link......

Obama kisses and hugs. You can start here:

"A special tribute came from Khalidi's friend and frequent dinner companion, the young state Sen. Barack Obama. "...Obama reminisced about meals prepared by Khalidi's wife, Mona, and conversations that had challenged his thinking."

-snip-

"And yet the warm embrace Obama gave to Khalidi, and words like those at the professor's going-away party, have left some Palestinian American leaders believing that Obama is more receptive to their viewpoint than he is willing to say."

FOUND IT!!!!!!!!

Folks, this is one of Obama’s most flagrant and disgraceful lies yet. I knew I’d read this recently — Obama himself talking about many dinners at Khalidi’s HOME, dinners prepared by Khalidi’s wife, many talks.....

Obama has just shot himself in the foot or worse - he can’t spin this one.

We’ve gotta get this out to all the news and talk show outlets.....

CHICAGO — It was a celebration of Palestinian culture — a night of music, dancing and a dash of politics. Local Arab Americans were bidding farewell to Rashid Khalidi, an internationally known scholar, critic of Israel and advocate for Palestinian rights, who was leaving town for a job in New York.

A special tribute came from Khalidi’s friend and frequent dinner companion, the young state Sen. Barack Obama. Speaking to the crowd, Obama reminisced about meals prepared by Khalidi’s wife, Mona, and conversations that had challenged his thinking.

His many talks with the Khalidis, Obama said, had been “consistent reminders to me of my own blind spots and my own biases. . . . It’s for that reason that I’m hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation — a conversation that is necessary not just around Mona and Rashid’s dinner table,” but around “this entire world.”

YES, that’s the article - I was preparing my post and didn’t see you’d already posted it. Looks like I was 1 minute too slow.....

This is dynamite, Obama has blatantly lied again to try to minimize his relationship to a close pal who is very radical, a propagandist for terrorists.

Only thing I’m worried about is that this could sink Obama before the DNC and then Hillary is back in play.

yes you did, kudos!

Unfortunately Obama, his own little tribute to the terror propagandist described in that article does not come close to what he just said tonight in trying to minimize the relationship (he may not be an ‘official’ campaign advisor but Obama himself has described the relationship as close and warm and very interactive, at least before the jihadist left for NYC):

“Obama responded by saying he has met Khalidi and spoken with him in an academic context, when Obama was teaching at the University of Chicago. “He is not one of my advisers. He’s not one of my foreign policy people,” Obama said. “He is a respected scholar, although he vehemently disagrees with a lot of Israel’s policy.””

Obama been a rubber man so far. He'll implode in September and if Hillary gets the nod before then, many of the Obama supporters will stay home November. The Dems are soon to be sunk.

"His many talks with the Khalidis, Obama said, had been “consistent reminders to me of my own blind spots and my own biases.""

Let's see, what 'biases' would the terrorist propagandist be ripping apart? Maybe any vestiges of support for Israel and oppostion to Pali-terrorism?

I do not take any of Obama's reassurances about support for Israel seriously, and no one of sound mind would. He may do what he feels forced to do in support of Israel, but his heart and mind will always be sympathetic to the terrorists and who knows when he may suddenly sell out Israel and America's legitimate support for Israel?

What does it take for the American electorate to realize that Obama is a Muslim sleeper?

And of course, no rubber is 100% unbreakable and they don't protect us against all diseases.

Please see #21 and LA Times article — Obama has been caught in one of his biggest deceptions yet, trying to pretend that his relationship with a leading terror propagandist was not close..... LA Times has him saying otherwise!! How many more lies to come from Obama?

Well, Bambi, when you sit on a foundation, you dont normally vote to fund someone's organization if you aren't more or less simpatico with their views.

The Woods Fund gave several grants to a foundation run by Khalidi's wife. I guess Bambi's story will be that he wasnt there on the days those proposals were discussed and approved.

I think I finally understand Obama.

Minority racism is ear-candy to a Marxist.

When a Marxist hears that kind of mindless hate towards the majority, he knows that the conditions are ripe for revolution.

Obama is a far left wing extremist who has hated this country for most of his adult life. THE MSM will try to hide this reality. McCain will be a weak candidate. We face the appalling prospect of the White House falling into the hands of a man who would destroy our country, curtail our freedoms and betray us to our enemies. The Second Amendment becomes especially important in such times.
