If you have any doubt, learn about what the Bolsheviks did to the socialists once they took power. Indeed, Lenin wrote a tract on the subject entitled “Left Wing Communism, an Infantile Disorder” in which he argued that naive/idealistic socialists and Marxists needed to be purged/liquidated from the party. Communists must follow orders...period. No freedom of speech, no freedom of religion, no private property, the state owns your children, no remnants of traditional society are to remain whatsoever. In short, there is a big difference between socialists and Communists. Ever hear of the phrase “useful idiots”? That's how Communists view socialists.
