I would venture to guess that if you were to track the first 1000 gay weddings in California as well as a random selection of 1000 heterosexual marriages for five years that at the end of that period the divorce rate of the heterosexual couples would be higher than that of the homosexual couples.

” the divorce rate of the heterosexual couples would be higher than that of the homosexual couples.”

Spoken like someone who hasn’t witnessed the dynamics of gay relationships much. Or perhaps you have?

Speaking from my experience having gay roommates and going out with them, it’s very rare to see one of these couplings last for more than a few months, much less a year. Perhaps in a small town where there are no other options.

In a larger city, infidelity is the rule rather than the exceptional surprise in gay relationships. I’ve seen it over and over again.

Before seeing the gay community in action, I was more modest in my opposition to gay marriage. Seeing that dynamic in action only solidified it.
