On Slate, no less. I got this off of the CA-firearms mail list this morning, and thought y'all might get a kick out of it.
A "Girls Night Out" at the only shooting range in Manhattan, the Westside Rifle & Pistol Range.

That was a real cute piece.
I don't know about that rangemaster's story about being able to just walk into a store and buy a gun back in the 60's though. I grew up in NYC and bought my first firearm (a Remington 581 .22 rifle) in '68. I had to jump through more hoops than it took for me to get a CHP here in Louisiana.
