And remember, his reason for bringing up concentration camps is NOT to talk about how important it is to stand up to tyranny and terrorists, to liberate people from death camps like we did in Iraq, to actually fight for right.

No, his reason is to talk about how hard it was for his uncle to have to see the camps, and how government needed to spend billions of dollars because of it.

It was all about him, his family, THEIR suffering, and how he can use that to talk people into spending more money on government programs.

Using concentration camps as political pawns should be strictly off-limits, but not to Barack.

Excellent point — Obama is (mis)using the Nazi concentration camps, not to talk about standing up against the world’s worst evils but to support a Democrat campaign talking point about health care.

Also, see Obama’s quote from 2002 where it was his grandfather, not his uncle, ‘hearing’ about not witnessing, and the reference is to US troops liberating Auschwitz and Treblinka, but NOT any concentration camps that US troops actually liberated. He’s simply plugging in any name(s) of concentration camps that he can think of, not relating an actual specific, REAL story.

I think Obama is just improvising something from an article he read or a Hollywood film, etc. and mangling it. If his family really did have any family tales from a great-uncle (or his grandfather) Obama sure has not concerned himself with getting any of the facts right, that’s for sure.

The thing is, simply talking about his grandfather’s wartime service would have been good enough, and most honorable, but he had to go and try to embellish to score political points. ..... at least that’s how it’s looking to me right now.
