Czech President Klaus ready to debate Gore on climate change
M&C ^ | 5/27/08

Posted on 05/27/2008 2:51:34 PM PDT by Dawnsblood

Gore a former US vice president who has become a leading international voice in the cause against global warming, was co-winner of this year's Nobel Peace Prize. Gore's effort was highlighted by his Oscar winning documentary film An Inconvienent Truth.

Klaus, an economist, said he opposed the 'climate alarmism' perpetuated by environmentalism trying to impose their ideals, comparing it to the decades of communist rule he experienced growing up in Soviet-dominated Czechoslovakia.

'Like their (communist) predecessors, they will be certain that they have the right to sacrifice man and his freedom to make their idea reality,' he said.

'In the past, it was in the name of the Marxists or of the proletariat - this time, in the name of the planet,' he added.

Klaus said a free market should be used to address environmental concerns and said he oppposed as unrealistic regulations or greenhouse gas capping systems designed to reduce the impact of climate change.

'It could be even true that we are now at a stage where mere facts, reason and truths are powerless in the face of the global warming propaganda,' he said.

Klaus alleged that the global warming was being championed by scientists and other environmentalists whose careers and funding requires selling the public on global warming.

'It is in the hands of climatologists and other related scientists who are highly motivated to look in one direction only,' Klaus said.

Ain't gonna happen.

Gore wouldn't even debate a reasonably well informed fourth grader.

Klaus seems to hit all the right notes.

I’m going steady with this sentence:

“Klaus alleged that the global warming was being championed by scientists and other environmentalists whose careers and funding requires selling the public on global warming.”

Gore doesn’t “debate” global warming. That would give his mind-controlled minions the impression that there still is a debate, and all the science not “in” yet. They’re programmed to tune out any skepticism anyway, so there’s no point.

Klaus will eat Gore's lunch if they debate. Albore may think Klaus is just some dumb Slav from Central Europe. In fact, he's a superb debater. When I lived in Prague I saw Klaus debate a rather repellant enviromentalist/philospher named Erazim Kohak. Klaus destroyed him. Klaus has the number of these "watermelons," and gives no quarter to them in debate.

Never. That would be defaming the Church of Global Warming - the religion which all kool-aid drinking liberals must belong. You DO NOT allow the Church to be attacked — thus no debate.

Gore must protect his CASH COW.

Klaus was speaking at the National Press Building in Washington to present his new book, Blue Planet in Green Shackles - What Is Endangered: Climate or Freedom?

Those that want to support him might consider buying his book for starters:

Gore’s typical of those making money off of selling make belief answers to make belief problems they help create the hysteria for.

The idea is always the same. Pick some theme like Acid Rain. Convince people all our forests will be dead by the year 2000 (fear) unless they take immediate action which is easy, quick, and costs them only a little (low cost). If they think they can do something and as long as they think it won’t cost them personally much or anything they’ll play along (feel good politics), and beat this theme without end. It’s been the political MO from Germany to Japan and everything in between for years. Politically it’s an easy way to score capital but something has changed over the last years.

The difference between today and 20 years ago is that today big business is often a driving force behind thinking green. Today environmentalism is itself very profitable; from organic tomatoes to green power, recycled paper to the so called green light bulb, green is big business and often even pushed by firms with names like GE.

Few topics are as warped and perverted as environmentalism. It’s the consequence of a theme which can easily be abused by both politicians and business for their end. Most initiatives for the environment today bring little, even those which are often codified and if broken can cost lots of money are often simply put, political chess and racketeering. The consequences of say blowing R12 off are huge, and the entire theme of the Ozone Hole like Acid Rain has in reality already blown past, like Global Warming, now re-branded as Climate Change will eventually too. So while authorities might slam some poor sap for blowing R12 into the atmosphere, few question the validity of the science behind it in the first place. I guess that we should be happy that a few years past some dork in some political party somewhere, beating that nonsense, and of course DuPont which made billions off it built their careers on foundations of BS that has already been forgotten in the winds of time. Unbelievable, one has to wonder what laws against things like racketeering were intended for.

That seems about right. Liberals don't tolerate dissent in their own ranks, even though they equate dissent with patriotism when it comes to America's interests. Questioning global warming is an outright admission that you hate mother earth.

You mean like things like the fact that heavier than air R12 falls to the ground? After charging my car, I used to kick and ant pile and vent the left over R12 over the ants. It fell. The ants froze.

Do that today and the environmental police will slap you with a $25K fine.

It is also their cop-out for the exposure of their scam. How dare you question a LIBERAL CRIMINAL SCAM!!! Afterall, just ask the MSM — they do not dare question ANYTHING THAT COMES FROM THE LIBS. The libs are their lifeblood now — they made that choice. That is why they are going out of business too. But the libs love it — that is what has kept the Clintons out of Federal prison.

LOL

Do you remember Acid Rain? I guess that issue just vaporized; as did “The coming Ice Age.” But then we had the “Ozone Hole,” and we were all getting skin cancer unless we immediately take action.

So CFC’s were banned (but not in China and elsewhere) and a stable heavier than air molecule that floats to the ground we were told was destroying this vital earth sustaining Ozone up in the bozo-sphere was taken from the shelf. Of course a reasonable person has to question the validity of this because according to the weather models and the cell theory this CFC would never even get to the Polar Regions even if it were to rise. But we’ll just suspend reason when dealing with “saving the planet,” I guess, since the arguments tend to be 90% appeal to emotion and 10% junk science.

What I wish would happen. I wish there were a hind-sight 20/20 committee; an organization which looks back on such issues and exposes all the demagogues (many of whom are still in political offices today) and just embarrasses the crap out of them. Like Kerry with his infamous testimony that bought him 15 minutes of fame and jump started his political career at the end of the war, at the expense of his comrades and war effort, modern politicians ride on environmentalism to get their name out there, beating issues which have profound economic consequences and no real tangible ecological benefit in the long run. Unfortunately, what we have today is a situation where such demagogues basically get away with it at no expense to their career. Tell me, who’s being chastised for backing the ethanol mess we created? No one. Environmentalism is one of those soft topics where you can score points politically and few will ever question you, because after all, you’re saving the planet, children, cuddly baby seals or polar bears. Ever notice the animals that need saved are always cute and cuddly or somehow majestic looking? From spotted owl to eagles, the animals that need saved and are on the posters are always appealing somehow. I guess “saving the planet” even has a sense of fashion.

Making money is OK, and green has become big business, but deception and bad policies have become hallmarks of these very trendy movements. Many of these Environmental themes, policies, or products are outright fraud and racketeering schemes, but no one calls them out and people just seem to fall for it over and over again, never looking back an holding politicians, environmental organizations, or corporations accountable. You can lie, cheat, and steal when it’s to “save the planet.”
