So when do you figure this nut will pass a law making it illegal to leave the state? Or even better, say that all former Michigan residents and business owners must pay taxes from their new locations for a period of ten years.

Hey, if it works for the feds...

But I've seen enough that I am not returning, not even from the bluest of states called (ironically) Washington (aka The EvergreeD State and The Peoples' Soviet of Washington) to the "Water Winter Wonderland."

Sadly, there is a hell worse than Seattle.

The ballot-box stuffing in Detroit alone can steal the election from the rest of the state in much the same way that Milwaukee and Madison can steal an election in Wisconsin.

And Seattle in Washington. The 2004 election here proved that.

I voted against Granholm four times. Three times for governor (democrat in 02 primary as well) and once for attorney general.

I'm also smarter than most people in this state.

Research by former Comerica economist David Littmann finds that about the only industry still growing in Michigan is government.

It is the same situation in Connecticut. The biggest employer in the state is the state. The high overall tax burden has caused enough people to leave the state over the years that Connecticut lost a Congressional seat since the last census.

“Seriously, I believe this puts Michigan ripe for the picking for the GOP come November.”

The chances of that happening are between nil and zero.

We recently had a special bond election to raise taxes on property owners to pay for more gold-plating at the local public indoctrination camps for the kiddies. The fat welfare mommas, who own no property, turned out by the cattlecar load to stick it to the few remaining productive citizens. Of course we get no vote on how much money the welfare slobs get.

Meanwhile, their pig boyfriends who aid and abet these welfare bums by insuring momma is pregnant all the time, sit in the bars drinking beer and shots. BTW, they’re pulling in $40,000 a year from workmen’s comp, more than many working people make in this area. The area is filled with shyster lawyers and crooked quacks who will sign off on fake injuries to keep the welfare game going. And our RINO state attorney general won’t do a damn thing about the massive fraud in this state.

Mr. McCain has no chance to win the socialist hellhole of Michigan.

“Seriously, I believe this puts Michigan ripe for the picking for the GOP come November. IF, and that’s a big if, the voters in Michigan can get their heads out of their collective ass.”

Your dream will not be realized as most of the SEMI voters continually blame the President for the mess in MI. I suspect the exodus of people would be heavily weighted to the conservative side, making the imbalance even more difficult to overcome. The SEMI voters will not hold the governor accountable for the state of this State.

We’re still here but only due to a home we couldn’t sell if we tried and we have family nearby.

Why don’t people ever learn from history???

True point. Seattle would have been a national scandal had the Republicans pulled what the Dems did. Since it was the Dems, the press buried it and most of the nation was never aware. The Dem Mantra is definitely “count and re-count until you get the result you want.”
