There are 2,200 possible combinations.

Hmm... I guess I should have included ones that didn't use all five buttons?

Having 2200 combinations on a device that would permit trying about 1,000 combinations/hour would mean that a device could be opened in about two hours without any signs of forced entry. Good enough for some purposes, but I'd prefer something a little stronger.

That would be if you knew it was a Simplex lock ahead of time and you brought a list of all the combinations with you.

Even so, I believe your rate of 1000 combinations/hour is off. That would be 1 combination every 3.6 seconds. I don’t think most untrained people would be able to do that (especially without making errors) for the amount of time required to open the safe.

I have found no other safe on the market that is purely mechanical (no batteries or electricity required) and uses only push-button combinations (no keys or dials).

By increasing security, you are increasing the chances that something would interfere with your ability to open the safe in an emergency. For me, my safe with the Simplex lock strikes the perfect balance.
