We used to raise cattle, same thing. You only want a few bulls, a lot of cows, you keep those calves coming, and you build a fence around ‘em to keep ‘em all in. Sounds just like YFZ.
I hear he’s not in the general population at the prison, for his safety.
Regarding the pulled comments, this is not the thread for cheesecake, and there is nothing funny here.
If you don’t mind, meaning what in this context?
What’s unfortunate is that in this age of relativism a polygamist cult like this can go so far before the law intervenes, and it’s not even clear whether the intervention was legal at this point.
In the old days, this business would have been broken up much sooner, before girls were victimized and children had to be taken away from their parents.
Having let things go on this long, there are no good outcomes. The kids will suffer no matter what happens. It’s a very sad thing. Sexual promiscuity and abandonment of the old social rules that governed America is not a matter of “victimless crimes.” Yes, there are victims, and in this case most of them are children, both those who may have been sexually abused and those who were born into this mess and then taken into state custody.
I believe the photos were released by the court. One would think they would have blurred out the faces of the girls for public release. Since one of these girls was identified by a father petitioning the court for return of his child, as his own sister, I guess the fact that the photos were clear enough that the girl’s face was clearly recognizeable is relevant to the overall case.
Judge Walther is on the warpath, since the appellate court claimed there was insufficient evidence that the children were in danger to warrant their removal. She wants LOTS of evidence out in the open, and these photos plus the appealing parents’ reaction to them, are heavy duty evidence . Not only did the father who identified this girl as his sister know about her marriage at age 12 and fail to report it, but his wife told the court after seeing these pictures and knowing the girl’s identity and age, that Warren Jeffs “is perfect in my eyes”. Asked if she though it was appropriate for a grown man to kiss a 12 year old girl this way, she replied “Everyone has their free agency.” No way is ANY child safe with parents who think like this, and who are prepared to follow ANY order that Warren Jeffs gives.
Once smoking gun put them up the papers likely felt they were losing credibility, In that most had been publishing that it was unclear whether any outright sexual abuse had happened at the FLDS’ Texas ranch. Or they may think that sex with the twelve year old is okay.
The twelve year old was fair game according to some very vocal freepers, because she has had puberty.
That is right, the new definition of adulthood (According to certain freepers) is simply whether or not puberty has occurred. One end all be all definition, which, while not the definition of adulthood under the law (or even in medical science) - is the one they prefer. And they will get pretty vile with anyone who says otherwise.
I can believe that, though that is better than he deserves.
It would appear that child molestation (a 12 yr. old girl is a child) is going on in the name of “freedom of religion”. Then, too, all the children these perverts are producing appear to be on the public dole, with food stamps and welfare. . . while the perverted chinless wonder men kept on having their party under the guise of “religion”. From what I’ve read, even their big leader, Joseph Smith, liked the ladies, and broke his first wife’s heart with his philandering polygamist perverted partying, but you have to give Jeffs credit - he’s staying true to Smith’s original teaching. - “By their fruits ye shall know them.” This is a rotten barrel of apples. Where is common sense?
Long gone for many here...
Jeffs did not act alone. All of the adults in the FLDS cult that aided and abetted him deserve prison time as well. Put them in general population.
I continue to predict that the Texas supreme court will give the appellate court a pretty stinging rebuke.
If there’s one thing you should have gotten from all this, it’s that this really IS NOT about the children.
As far as this particular case goes in Texas, there are no 12 year olds that are pregnant or women that had children when they were 12. There are no 14 year olds pregnant. From what I gather, there are perhaps 5 teenagers pregnant or women that had children underage. Are those teenagers 17? Was the assailant 17, 16, 18? We don’t know. I just know that there weren’t 56 of them and number keeps going way down.
I don’t know about these photographs of Jeffs, nor about the actual age or relationship to Jeffs of the young woman and girl in the photos (is one of them his daughter?). (I suspect they have been posted with an agenda.) Having said that, Jeffs is still a sick puppy even with verbal descriptions of his state-supported private “girly-train”.
Ditto.
One of the young brides in the picture is actually in custody now. That was a “wedding” picture, in case you’ve forgotten.
