Global Warming Bonehead Of The Day
Bob Parks: Black & Right ^ | 5/28/08 | Bob Parks

Posted on 05/28/2008 1:10:35 PM PDT by bocopar

This HAS to go to Massachusetts Congressman Ed Markey...

WASHINGTON (May 28, 2008) – Rep. Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) introduced a revolutionary new global warming bill today that would reduce global warming pollution according to scientific targets, reinvest any revenue back to American workers and technology, and would re-establish America as a leader in solving the globe’s greatest challenge, climate change.

“I am here today because the chorus for change is deafening. The time for action is now. We must cap pollution, we must invest in consumers, jobs and the technology of tomorrow, and America must lead the world in solving our greatest challenges, and we must start now.”

Congressman Mah-key, it's the end of May. According to the NOAA, at my house tonight it's going to be 35 degrees with patchy frost. Scientists (the "chorus for change") around the world, in an attempt to salvage their now-suckered reputations after falling for the warming scam, are now predicting cooling for the next decade-plus, and YOU are legislating against global warming.

Is you crazeh? (Dumb question to ask a crazy person...)

I’m thinking a paintball gun mounted on the railing in both chambers of Congress.

The microphone is hooked into a voice recognition system.

If a Democrat is up the system is switched on.

And he gets popped in the forehead whenever he says the word “invest.”

Rep. Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.)...

That alone tells me the bill is a P.O.S.

the chorus for change is deafening.

I'll say. Once you join the chorus, you can't hear anything else.

OK, Eddie gets the award for the Day, but it's Algore who still holds the championship belt. But even McCain has boarded this wagon, which gives me yet one more reason NOT to vote for him.

Bob Barr is looking better every day.

the chorus for change is deafening.

Not as deafening as the 31,000 that signed "The Petition Project"

"Investments" was one of those Clinton-era words that everyone started using, whenever they wanted to distract the rest of us from the truth (they wanted to raise taxes and spend our money for us).

Ditto with the word "issues" instead of problems. No one wante to admit anyone ahd any problems with anything.

Someone should write a dictionary translating bureaucratese into plain English....

I would say Cantwell and Inslee are in the running for this award as well:

Cantwell, Inslee focus on increasing acidity of oceans at Seattle hearing

Move over, global warming. There's a new environmental anxiety on the block: more acidic oceans.

Days after scientists announced finding unusually acidic ocean water in shallow areas off the West Coast, Sen. Maria Cantwell and a fellow Washington Democrat, Rep. Jay Inslee, on Tuesday sought to put the issue on the political center stage.

Sitting before a school of coho salmon in a giant tank at the Seattle Aquarium, Cantwell hosted a hearing about climate change, ocean acidification and its effects on Puget Sound and the ocean.

"From an acidification standpoint, the ocean is on fire," declared Inslee, whom Cantwell invited to the forum.

we must invest in consumers, jobs

He thinks there is such a thing as a "perpetual motion job creation mechanism".

First you tax business to death.... Then you re-invest to create more jobs.

Too bad for us it doesn't work like that.

"Investments" was one of those Clinton-era words that everyone started using

They also redefined "family values" to mean "investments" and the "charity of welfare"; i.e. if you are against welfare or "investments", you don't have family values.
