Bob Dole Calls Scott McClellan a 'Miserable Creature'
FOXNews.com ^ | May 30, 2008 | Bob Dole

Posted on 05/30/2008 10:43:58 AM PDT by NCDragon

Bob Dole says Bob Dole is mad at Scott McClellan.

The former Senate majority leader and 1996 Republican presidential candidate sent a nasty e-mail to McClellan calling him a "miserable creature" for his latest book blasting the Bush administration, FOX News has learned.

In the e-mail, Dole basically describes the former White House press secretary as a traitor looking to cash in on the "liberal" media's distaste for President Bush.

"There are miserable creatures like you in every administration who don't have the guts to speak up or quit if there are disagreements with the boss or colleagues," the five-term Kansas senator wrote to McClellan. "No, your type soaks up the benefits of power, revels in the limelight for years, then quits, and spurred on by greed, cashes in with a scathing critique."

He continues: "When the money starts rolling in you should donate it to a worthy cause, something like, 'Biting The Hand That Fed Me.' Another thought is to weasel your way back into the White House if a Democrat is elected. That would provide a good set up for a second book deal in a few years."

White House officials have sharply decried McClellan's book — "What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception," which criticizes the administration's handling of the Iraq war.

Dole wrote that if McClellan had misgivings about the president's foreign policy, he should have spoken up long ago "like a man," or quit his job.

"That would have taken integrity and courage but then you would have had credibility and your complaints could have been aired objectively. You're a hot ticket now but dont you, deep down, feel like a total ingrate?"

Excellent letter Senator Dole. But Scotty was just being the good little whore he always was. He merely sold himself to the highest bidder. In this case George Soros.

Strong message to follow.

...biting the hand that feeds me...

Let's think about this now. Back not so long ago, we got up in arms about Shamnesty. We called Congressmen, Senators, and the Whitehouse. We jammed switchboards and e-mail systems. We killed Shamnesty, at least that time.

But then, our President went to Harry Reid to ask if he would resurrect it.

So it seems to me that traitors and tyrants all keep company together and deserve the unkind results of keeping such associations. They reap what they sow. I don't think it's a good thing that McClellan has done, but it's certainly proof of "reaping and sowing" in action. It seems a simple case of betrayal begat betrayal.

You have to ask yourself though nowadays with the current political shift (especially within the GOP), WHO has bitten the hand that feeds it?

Good points. I’m to the point now where I say “a pox on all their houses!” (mostly due to the illegal alien sellout).

Has anyone noticed the timing of McClellan book, talk show presentations etc? The focus of the media is on Scott McClellan not Hillary Clinton. We all noticed the timing of the John Edwards endorsement of Obama-it was the lead story on the Wednesday nightly news programs-Clinton's victory in West Virginia was barely mentioned.

I am thinking that the timing of both events, Edwards endorsement of Obama and McClellan book promotion were not a coincident

They have no further use for him.

He's burned the bridge to Republicans and layed land mines down.

His best career shot now will be as a flack for a car-wash chain.

In truth, I think it's likely that Bob Dole is a miserable creature too. A certain string of commercials he did for Viagra should give at least some credibility to this notion. :-)

Agreed: whether you agree with his conclusions (Bush sold the war in faulty intel, Rove outed Plame, etc., or whatever) or not, the fact he was silent while he was getting a paycheck from the Bush Admin and only now “comes clean” to hype his tell-all book is awful

No, he will be teaching at a University while working for an advanced degree. Worst persons have been hired by academic institutions.

BTW, I hear Dean is peddling a book. Did he ever get a job? Now of all people, Toe-tapping Senator Craig has announced he is writing a book, mainly about energy. The Bobble Foot Criag doll is hilarious.
