UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. Firefighters are fighting a massive blaze that broke out on a lot at Universal Studios Sunday morning, that has left at least one firefighter injured.
Los Angeles fire Capt. Frank Reynoso told FOXNews that over 100 city and county firefighters have been called to battle the fire, which was reported just before dawn Sunday on a sound stage on a back lot.
"We are using a 3rd alarm assignment," said Reynoso, who said at least one explosion was reported during filming, which was going on at the time.
Thick columns of smoke have been seen rising thousands of feet into the air. Fire officials confirmed one firefighter has been injured, likely due to smoke inhalation.
Firefighters are working to ensure the flames don't spread to nearby brush, but are having some problems with water pressure. Two firefighting helicopters are dropping water onto the burning structures.

not everyone who is in Hollywood is a liberal. there are a lot of conservative families trying to make a living here. Just cause we don’t get in front of a camera doesn’t mean we don’t exist.
I know what you mean. I grew up in the valley, in fact I went to N. Hollywood High.
It’s unfortunate California carries such a bad reputation (political), though a lot of it is deserved. One of the reasons I left by the way.
Cultural history is being lost, whether you like film or TV or not.
I'm not too worried, I sure some of the things may be lost, but the videos will live on forever. I guess I also think cultural history may not be all good. I personally would cheer if a porno film set burned to the ground.

Didn’t the original Back To The Future “Hill Valley” set burn a few years ago as a result of arson?
