The unioin is already busted....way lower wages and no profit sharing..they blow it in the 80/90’s with idiotic strikes and CAT had revenge in the 2005 contract...<p.

the sad thing is many of CATS new generation workers are very hard working and get paid less then their older union spoiled brothers

Growing up in East Peoria, I knew many people including those in my own family who worked for Caterpillar. It always seemed funny to me that someone as dumb as a box of rocks could get a job there earning twenty to thirty bucks an hour (in 1980's money), excellent health insurance, a nice vacation and benefits package, and then bitch every two years about how terrible they had it.

The UAW played games with the Peoria economy for way too many years. I saw too many union families suffer because of this practice.

Frankly, I don't care if the union is a little uncomfortable. These people are always free to look for jobs with companies that are more permissive in their smoking rules.
