Long ago and far away, I went to the Spectrum in Philadelphia to see Chuck Berry, and Bo Diddley was standing in for him.

Fantastic player. Reminds me that I have little time left.

RIP, sir.

“...actually, Little Richard.”

I was thinking of BB King’s guitar.

When Bo was asked what time it was, he often answered thusly: “Later than you think.”

B.B. King’s guitar is named Lucille. Little Richard sang a song called Lucille”

King has had several guitars by that name. One of them he gave to John Paul II as a gift.

Bo Diddley played the pawnbroker in “Trading Places”.

"In Philadelphia, it's worth fifty dollars."

"Reminds me that I have little time left."

Don't look forward to the end.
Make the most of the time you have, which was NOT granted to a lot of very brave young men.

We, the living - in America ----- OWE that to them.

I’ll always remember the classic Nike ad with Bo Jackson, “Bo! You don’t know diddley!”

Pawnbroker: Burnt my fingers, man.

Louis Winthorpe III: I beg your pardon?

Pawnbroker: Man, that watch is so hot, it’s smokin’.

Louis Winthorpe III: Hot? Do you mean to imply stolen?

Pawnbroker: I’ll give you 50 bucks for it.

Louis Winthorpe III: Fifty bucks? No, no, no. This is a Rouchefoucauld. The thinnest water-resistant watch in the world. Singularly unique, sculptured in design, hand-crafted in Switzerland, and water resistant to three atmospheres. This is *the* sports watch of the ‘80s. Six thousand, nine hundred and fifty five dollars retail!

Pawnbroker: You got a receipt?

Louis Winthorpe III: Look, it tells time simultaneously in Monte Carlo, Beverly Hills, London, Paris, Rome, and Gstaad.

Pawnbroker: In Philadelphia, it’s worth 50 bucks.

Louis Winthorpe III: Just give me the money.

You’re thinking BB King.

You passed up the chance to add “You don’t know Diddly”?
