He has a long arrest record, yet the police allowed him to drive away in a ‘bait-car’, hit and kill and innocent women.
I agree with his arrest record and criminal activities he should have long since been gone to either south of the border or prison.
However I doubt the police knew that was him driving the bait car.
This is one example of why I’m for a torture penalty.
What we deem “cruel and unusual” is an entirely relative term.
I already reached the conclusion that government at all levels these days views us as cash cows that, when no longer useful, will be shipped to the meat factory to get made into dog food.
I foresee a very large law suit on behalf of her estate.
How hard is it to drop the drive-shaft? lock the transmission? lock the brakes? Any number of ways to keep the car from moving once it is started? This guy broke in the car, wired it to start, and started it. That is all you need for an arrest. Dallas PD should be charged in the mistake.
They might as well have put a gun in his hand and pointed it at the lady’s head.
Heck, I'd disconnect the inside door latch handles, locks and window controls, then have the bait car programmed to start and lock the doors, then flame-out within 50 feet and sit there with the perp locked inside.
You could even have an audio recording playing the Miranda Warning.

Under the same, but dubious, legal theory used by Mayor Bloomberg and the other gun grabbers, the Dallas police should be shut down and prosecuted for supplying this engine of death to a known criminal.

I LOVE your idea! That would be great... An added bonus - equip the car with a hidden camera and mic to catch the would-be thief cussing and swearing as he tries to get out of it. Would make for some great episodes of “COPS”.
As for this particular guy - with all those arrest records why in the WORLD was he still in the U.S.??? OR, is he a “repeat” traveler across the border?
Prayers for this woman’s family and friends. I can’t imagine the anger and frustration this would cause in the midst of their grief... May she rest in peace.

I cannot say it as eloquently as it was said 232 years ago, but yes that is what I am saying. However, simple adherence to the Constitution would be acceptable.
