I watched a portion of McPain’s speech tonight on FOX. This guy is a joke, he calls himself a ... get this ... “a conservative republican”. McPain is the best the GOP can come up with (?) ... it’s all over folks ... this guy is a disaster.

"We believe Senator McCain's vision for reforming government is particularly meaningful for the people of Louisiana who know all too well the tragic cost of government's failure to act," said Sadosky.

But Ray Nagin is still in office, right?

I wonder if his choice of locations for this speech give us any hint of his VP choice?

I, for one, don't care if pandering is the reason, I would love Gov. Jindal to be on the ticket. If only to quiet the MSM's inevitable "racism" stories. After all, with a minority on our ticket, Obama won't be able to use the "race" card over and over.

Plus, a young Conservative is just what this party needs.

The first debate will be the tail of the tape and I just don't see McCain keeping up with Obama. Obama is going to make McCain look like a doddering old fool. McCain is toast, he doesn't have the energy to keep up, he won't have the money to keep up and he lacks a base to count on. He has gone out of his way to expel the foot solders (conservatives) from his team and he will have no large group left to do the heavy lifting needed for him to win.

> Sen. John McCain is not your typical Republican

Very unfortunately, he IS a typical Republican these days. That's the problem.

IMO, no way McCain will ever beat Obama. Obama’s use of the “four more years of Bush” rhetoric is all it will take. I think that even the most unaware voter is accutely aware they don’t want another 4 more years and will risk either other Dem option. I’m just sayin.
