I'll bet we're alone as far as intelligent life in this galaxy.

Yet there are billions of other such spirals that might support technological life in this later third of universal history.

I'd bet they perceive of God too.

When Clinton was president the solar system had 9 planets and the Milky Way had 4 arms. After 8 years of George Bush the solar system has only 8 planets and the galaxy only 2 arms.

Coincidence? I think not.

While Hillary was busy taking the tableware, Bill took the Scrotum arm for a souvenir.

Scutum was originally named Scutum Sobieski, the Shield of Sobieski. Jan Sobieski was the Polish king who, with his army, came to the aid of the Viennese and lifted the Siege of Vienna by the Turks back in the 1600s. A Polish astronomer named the constellation in his honor.

Interesting. I know that the convention had been for decades that the Milky Way Galaxy was a near twin to the Andromeda Galaxy. So our galaxy is not typical or normal!
