Mulling over a premise for my next book...

Basically, what happens is that BHO is elected, and the day after the inauguration, "I'mADinnerJacket" and the rest of "the twelvers" announce that Barry-O is "the last Mahdi."

Whatcha think? Too much of a stretch? Too much to overcome in the "suspension of disbelief" department?

Or, maybe, "too close for comfort"? (A story that genuinely creeps out large numbers of people will not do well in the market, IMO.)

...or perhaps, after becoming President, Obama convinces the state of Israel to sign a 7-year peace treaty with the Palestinians, Syria, Iran, Lebannon, and the other Islamic states in the region.

Peace in our time. ...and take if from there.

No less inplausible.
