Not permanent bases, only for about 100 years.

Let’s face it, Iraq will be an American protectorate for a long time. This agreement needs to be finalized before the US election in case the Dems end up in charge of our foreign policy.

With our bases in Iraq, we can exercise military and political influence throughout the region. This will help protect the homeland from Islamo-Fascist terrorism, plus will back up our effort to democratize the Arab world.

Yep....We weren't seeking them in Germany, Italy or Korea either , yet they are still there.
