The Execution of Britain
Brussels Journal ^ | 5 June 2008 | Paul Belien

...In an essay entitled Put away the flags, Howard Zinn, the Leftist author of the best-selling book A People's History of the United States, writes that "On this July 4, we would do well to renounce nationalism and all its symbols: its flags, its pledges of allegiance, its anthems, its insistence in song that God must single out America to be blessed. Is not nationalism – that devotion to a flag, an anthem, a boundary so fierce it engenders mass murder – one of the great evils of our time, along with racism, along with religious hatred?" He concludes that "We need to assert our allegiance to the human race, and not to any one nation."

The problem is, rights can only be protected by sovereign states upholding their territorial integrity. How is "the global community" or "the human race" going to protect Mr. Zinn's liberties? For a free society to function, the state has to pass laws in the best interest of its citizenry and enforce these within its territory. Otherwise, self-government is impossible. In order to defend this territory from outside aggression, people need to identify with it as something more than just a random space on a map. By removing sovereign states, you remove the very foundations of a free society. Maybe some groups actually desire this?

The British Foreign Minister Milliband stated late in 2007 that the European Union should expand to include Muslim nations in North Africa and the Middle East. The French President Sarkozy and the German Chancellor Angela Merkel confirmed this early in 2008. Since the EU involves the free movement of people across borders, European leaders are thus opening the floodgates to tens of millions of Muslims at a time when native Europeans already feel like aliens in their own cities.

You forgot “barf alert.” Unfortunatley Zinn is one of those folks who hates the very system that allows him to flourish.

Zinn and his ilk are working hard to make this the “People's Republic of America”. Regardless of what he has written, he fails to understand the unique history of this country and her role in the freedoms some in the world still have. I really do wish we could trade these people to the Europeans for those there that still appreciate such things...

A fitting title. “The Beheading of Britain” would have been more appropriate.

What do you get if you blend the silty Nile with an Alpine stream?

The silty Nile.

There are so many “days” that we celebrate: Arbor Day, Take Your Daughter to Work Day, etc.

I’ve often thought that there should be a “Let’s Imagine that all Leftists were Transported to Another planet, Never to Return” Day. (There oughta be at least ONE day for our side.)

It’s not an execution, it’s suicide.

“We need to assert our allegiance to the human race”

Rather reactionary of him, asserting allegiance to the human race, and not to Mother Earth. Back to reeducation camp with him!

Outstanding article from the desk of fjordman. Anti-nation, anti-sovereignty, anti-individual, anti-life collectivists need a self-funding unstoppable military force to carry out their agenda. Witness jihad.

As the German people live in perpetual, self-and-government inflicted shame because of their past being ruled over by Nazis; so too have the English people decided to live in self-and-government inflicted shame because they once had an Empire.

What future exists for a people who live in hereditary shame?

The French feel no shame for Napoleon Bonaparte any more. Once they were deeply ashamed of him. But today he is again revered as one of the greatest of French leaders. Long ago, people in other nations thought of him as a good candidate for the anti-Christ. But today, nobody cares. He lived almost 200 years ago, for heaven’s sake.

So when will the Germans and the English grow out of it, and start living with dignity again? Eventually, no doubt.

It is a certainty that the Muslim parasites that dwell among them will lose, however, if either nation can just learn to limit the influx. This is because both Germany and England have cultures far superior to anything offered by Islam.

If they can bring themselves to stop allowing their nations to be submerged under a foreign deluge, in three generations, the foreigners already there will for the most part give up on their primitivism, cast off their silly religion, and behave as civilized people.

Sure, some will retain their customs and beliefs, but they will be the dying tribe, not the Germans and English.

“...native Europeans already feel like aliens in their own cities.”

Sad but true. This is happening in the USA as well.

What do you get if you blend the silty Nile with an Alpine stream?

If you put a teaspoon of wine into a barrel of sewerage, you have a barrel of sewerage.

If you put a teaspoon of sewerage into a barrel of wine, you have a barrel of sewerage.

The problem is we are seeing much more then a teaspoon full of undesirable immigration both here and in Europe.

As always, the replies smack of over-reaction, but then, its always remarkable how easy it is to get people believing what you want them to.

insistence in song that God must single out America to be blessed.

I don't want reality to get in the way of a good rant, but I can't think of one song that calls for only America to be blessed.

If other countries want their songs to ask for blessings, we're all for it!

Words mean things.

anyway, I have a pledge for the borderless place:

I pledge allegiance to bugs and bees
Flies and nats and ants and flees.
To the bunch of people here and there and
everybody everywhere.
And to smarty people just like Zinn,
who should soak their heads in
rye and gin.
