Wow - Snow forecast for Olympics, North Cascades (Global Warming Alert)

SEATTLE - Snow is in the forecast for the higher elevations of the Olympics and north Cascades.

The National Weather Service says up to two feet of new snow are possible by Friday night, creating avalanche danger and hazardous conditions for climbers or hikers in the backcountry.

While most of the accumulation will be at higher elevations, the Weather Service says the snow level will drop to about 3,500 feet. About three inches of snow are possible at the higher mountain passes: Stevens, Chinook, Washington Pass and roads to Paradise and Hurricane Ridge.

The Weather Service says the strong low pressure system over the Northwest will bring cool, cloudy weather with a chance of showers through the weekend across Washington.

Friends of mine in Oregon and Boston are griping about how it’s barely going to make 60 degrees today in both places...meanwhile, here in central North Carolina, we’re looking at 99 degrees, with two 100-degree days forecast for the weekend and 95 to 98 all next week. No rain or storms in the forecast, either, just blistering heat. Fairly unusual for this early in the year.

Just remember, no matter what happens, it’s our fault. Global warming? Human-caused “climate change.” Global cooling? Human-caused “climate change.” Drought? Flood? Too many hurricanes? Not enough hurricanes? It’s all human-caused “climate change.”

Ski resorts would do well to book appearances by Al Gore during the shoulder seasons (late fall, early spring).

If Manbearpig is hiding in those mountains he’s going to freeze his tukis off.

I’m not kidding, this is very serial!

Summer is coming later and later in my area. But the eco-fascists just say that globull warming affects different areas differently. What ‘tards.

NOAA weather radio reports that up to two feet of snow at elevations of 5,000ft. Snow but not sticking at 3,500ft.

It’s June - wood stove going .... we’re 18deg. below normal for this time of year ....

GA is averaging 10+ degrees hotter than normal for May-June.

I don’t like it. :)

As always, the liberals will steadfastly refuse to let the truth impact their agenda; they’re immune.

I know what you mean. We have been freezing all spring. Finally, this week, we get up to the 90s and I’m happy.

Yeah, I told my hubby that they were predicting snow in the passes for the weekend, and he couldn’t believe it. There was actually one ski resort open over Memorial Day weekend for Memorial Day skiing.

My wife and I are heading to Yellowstone tomorrow. Our 30th wedding anniversary is Monday, so we wanted to start the weekend at a favorite place. The forecast calls for snow and rain. We're getting rain and wind right now in Pocatello. It's noon and the temperature is a balmy +44 F. Not exactly what you expect two weeks before Summer begins. We still have snow on the north facing slopes of the local mountains.

Just freaking lovely.

Guess where the family and I are heading in a few hours for a weekend camp for disabled kids?

White Pass....elevation 4500 ft.

Thankfully, the cabins we’re staying in have electricity and wood stoves or fireplaces.

And in JUNE, no less.

The next person that says global warming is real, I’m going to slap them into next week.

I just spent the weekend in Yellowstone National Park. It snowed all weekend. It was especially heavy today on the road south from Old Faithful through the South Entrance. It continued to snow until just before we reached Jackson, WY. BTW, most of the time we were above 6500 ft. The highest labeled elevation sign was one of the Continental Divide signs at 8391 ft. The winter snow is still piled on the sides of the road and mountain sides. The weekend snow just added a bit more. We have rain/snow in the forecast for Pocatello on Tuesday. June 10th is a bit late for this stuff. We had to pull all our sensitive plants inside for the weekend as we had frost warnings. That's normally over by May 13th historically.
