OPINION: AQ has been losing at home and abroad with very little media coverage on this fact.
The jihadis use the internet for communications/support/propaganda/recruiting/financing/training/online terrorist courses, etc.
The truth is the jihadis want to convert us to Islam/harm us/kill us — depends on which jihad site/jihad supporting site one looks at.
So the questions to ask are:
Can they kill us?
Do they have the means to do so now?
Will they kill more of us here and abroad?
How will they do it?
Will it continue to be jihadis who are “mentally ill,” “lone jihadis” trained on the internet, “sudden jihadis” who acted in the heat of the moment, “radical extremists” recruited by “extremist literature,” etc, ad nauseum?
Yes the jihadis hate us.
Yes, they would attack if they could.
Time will tell.

Whether it happens in the near future or distant future, courtesy of AQ (a.k.a. 'The Pig Suckers') or some other group, it's likely to happen. There was an episode of the McLaughlin Group (not that I'm a JM viewer anymore) about ten years back; all the conservatives present put the likelihood of nuclear terrorism against the US in the 90%+ range (IIRC), and all of the 'feel-good-liberals' put the likelihood close to zero. As usual, the 'iberals' were completely delusional. Bottom line: it's more difficult to protect a country this size than it is to sneak in a nuclear device, just once. Especially when the federal government is unlikely to say anything, if they stop an attempt at nuclear terrorism (or two, or three, or)...
