McCain has some splainin to do to evangelicals, that is for sure. He needs to leave out the attitude and bridge the gap when it comes to all conservatives, and then follow through on his word to them.
And as for evangelical choices, it would be better to leave the space blank than vote for the false messiah.
My prediction is that many of them will stay home and not vote at all. That holds true for many voter blocs. It is hard to find anyone who is enthused about this election. Many will turn out to vote out of duty but most people need a positive compelling reason to get out and vote. This election may have the lowest turnout in a very long time.
