People are stupid. The masses hear this, and see it as some help. Half of the MSM doesn’t understand this, the other half is in the tank, so they keep quiet.
The reality is, a windfall profits tax will cause shortages, (why sell where you’re taxed heavily, as opposed to somewhere else, like China?)
Windfall taxes is wealth redistribution, but not from “rich” people, but from average joes, to the poor. The rich have accountants, and shelters, and the execs of the oil company are compensated in cash, as well as stock. People like me, who have oil companies in their 401k holdings will be taxed. And that money will be given to some stupid program to buy gas for the Escalades that some of the inner city folks have bought.
Liberals keep trying the same thing expecting different results. Sound familiar?
Where does Obeyme think financing for exploration and production come from? Oh, that’s right, we won’t be doing any of that in the U.S.
Taxing us to prosperity and increased oil supplies.
