U.N. Official to Visit Prince William to Study Illegal Immigration Policy
Tampa Bay Examiner ^ | June 5, '08 | Dan Genz

The U.N. plans to examine Prince William County's aggressive crackdown on illegal immigrants during a visit next week. Jorge Bustamante, the United Nation's special rapporteur on migrants' rights, plans to receive briefings on local enforcement measures, and meet with local officials. County Chairman Corey Stewart said he is willing to meet with Bustamante, but sharply rebuked the international body for what he called an anti-American agenda. But the UN should not have a role, said Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies. "Our immigration policy is not a subject for the U.N. or any foreign institution, pure and simple."

You won't believe this! After a group called "Mexicanos Sin Fronteras" (Mexicans without Borders) complained about Prince William County's common-sense measures against illegal aliens, the U.N. decided to send their own agent to investigate the county! Who are they sending? A complete open-borders globalist named Jorge Bustamante. This guy has explicitly claimed the United States should NOT have authority to unilaterally enact OUR OWN immigration laws! Last year, he called on Mexicans to boycott companies that support Republican candidates. This is a visit from an agent of the organization that includes Third World thugs and dictators who sit on the "Human Rights Council." Yes, the organization that sponsored the Oil-for-Food scam which was described as the biggest financial swindle in modern history. And, of course, the same institution which proudly hales itself as anti-American and anti-Semitic while grabbing the billions we contribute to it. Its agenda is clear: the end of American national sovereignty. And we tolerate it!

The UN needs to be disbanded and the “diplomats” deported. Right. Now.

Hopefully this sort on nonsense will finally convince people that the UN does way more harm than good, and it is time to get out of that institution.

Maybe when Syria and Sudan get together and write a resolution condemning the US for human rights violations because we require people to have a permit to work, that will be the last straw.

Agreed. But you forgot about the NY building. Rip it down and build something significant. They can move further east.

"Our immigration policy is not a subject for the U.N. or any foreign institution, pure and simple."

This needs to be repeated loudly and clearly, with regard to immigration, as well as all our other policies and laws. U.S. sovereignty trumps any international law or institution. Period.

Most importantly...this is more proof that anyone supporting any form of illegal alienism and illegal alien amnesty is truly an anti-American bigot.

Any excuse or explanation otherwise falls under the same category

Secure the borders, deport the illegals.

The county Board of Supervisors approved a policy in the fall ordering police officers to conduct residency checks of suspected illegal immigrants who were questioned for crimes or traffic violations. Changes announced this week will require police officers to check the legal status of everyone arrested.

Hundreds of legal and illegal immigrants have moved out of the county to avoid the policy, leading to a drop of more than 750 students in the county’s public school programs for English-language learners.

At a cost of $10K per year to educate these high-needs children, this action has saved the taxpayers of Prince William County $7.5 Million a year. These policies are worthwhile for that reason alone. Any jurisdiction that does not do the same thing is just throwing tax money away.

Look at all the good the un did in Rawanda and Dufur. Look what the un “security members” did to people as young as 6 years old, both boys and girls. The un is an organization of thugs, perverts and theives. AND WE PAY MOST OF THE BILL. I say OUT with the un, get America out of the un. Turn the un buildings over to Trump, he can make good use of them.

Such a pity that they didn't do anything about the illegals until after we left.

I'm cheering for my friends and former neighbors in good ol' PW. And Bustamante should not be allowed to cross the Potomac into Virginia.

Right - and from what I’ve heard the “refurbishments” of the U.N. building will also be in the billions. You’ve heard the old saying, “Make a fool of me once and it’s YOUR fault; do it again and again, and it’s MINE.” These foreign nations know how to play a sucker for all WE’re worth! We have to start blaming ourselves at this point.

Exactly. I remember that Sen. Norm Coleman (R) was very good in that regard when the Oil-for-Food scandal was being investigated by Congress. He made the same points you did. But then the outrage faded away. We really need a grass-roots uprising from the American public. But so many other issues occupy people that they don’t pay much attention to the UN. And, sadly, I don’t think most see this as the threat to our national sovereignty and economy that it really is.

I think you both made a good point about disloyalty. I believe that all elected officials who have sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution are guilty of an impeachable offense: Article.IV., Section. 4.:
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion.” The plain English meaning and original intent of the U.S. Constitution with regard to the current illegal invasion couldn’t be more clear. The ethnocentric political lobbies, business self-interest groups (U.S. Chamber of Commerce, et al.), and politicians pandering for votes couldn’t care less about either the Constitution or the general welfare of this nation.

On 5/21 I posted an article by Claudia Rosett about how the U.N. has taken it upon itself to investigate “racism” in, yes, believe it or not!, the United States. You may want to check that out. Rosett is a highly acclaimed journalistic authority on the U.N. Anyway, the present post is just a continuation of that original item about U.N. interference in our domestic affairs.

To hell with you bloody ingrates! The UN should move to a city where they'll get the appreciation and respect that they rightly deserve...Ulan Bator, Chelyabinsk and Lagos come immediately to mind.

Shouldn't the UN be sending a "special rapporteur" on criminals, not immigrants, to look into the numerous crimes committed by illegals in Prince William County?

I don’t think they should be here at all interfering in our domestic affairs, but if they want to go after criminals in the international community they should start with — their own United Nations.
