The prettiest base I have ever seen is the sub base at bangor washington.

finished ALL the retros (wrong rates in the system) that complete last
weeks payroll issues. Now to start this week's payroll. LOL!

I was stationed there for 3 1/2 years in the early 80’s. Being from Tennessee I got homesick for hot summer weather, but since it has been in the mid 90’s for the past week, I wouldn’t mind some cool Whidbey Island weather.
It is a beautiful part of the country. From the front porch on my enlisted housing overlooking Oak Harbor Bay I could see the Olympic Mountains ahead, Mt Rainier to the left (on a good day) and Mt Baker behind me. August was blackberry picking time and they grew big ans sweet in the cool air.
