From what I understand, if you get tomatoes with part of the vine on them, you are safe...but don’t hold me to that.

That’s what I read.
Yesterday we ate at Applebees. They couldn’t serve the bruschetta burger because they said they weren’t serving tomatoes because of the salmonella problem. But, my salad came out with little cherry tomatoes in it. So, what’s the deal with that?

The website for the USDA and other posts on FR verify that. Also cherry tomatoes are OK.

that’s what i heard also. but, i’m going to buy some tomatoes and wash them well and gorge.
