This time all countries but Ireland avoided a referendum.
In other words, the EU bureaucrats didn't bother to consult the citizens of their respective nations on an issue concerning their sovereignty? Is this accurate? And the people of Western Europe are OK with this?

Typical Pro-EU Bravo Sierra. IIRC, the EU had nothing to do with Ireland’s success. The Irish did it on their own by lowering taxes.

"It's very difficult, having gone through plan A and plan B, to see where plan C lies." That is not going to be a tough guess. It is pretty obvious what "government" is going to do next.

Democracy is too dangerous for Europeans. Ireland's decision only goes to show Brussels knows best.

Great news. It’s wonderful to see that the Irish people still like their identity.

Good show, citizens of Ireland!! Nice to know that 53% of you still care about the freedom and independence of your fine land.
Unfortunately, the socialist wankers of the EU bureaucracy will be back in 2-3 years (or less) with some new strategem for forcing the EU constitution down the throats of a skeptical public — they will make up a new name for a new “treaty” and next time they will make sure that no one at all gets to vote on it.
