While the Senators believed they were solving the problem, voters believed that the government was the problem.

This is consistent with other recent polling data showing that an overwhelming majority of voters believe the federal government itself has become a special interest group that looks out primarily for its own interest.

Yeah? Well, it would be nice if that was reflected at the ballot box.

I agree, but voter ignorance might be what was reflected at the ballot box during the primaries:

But I don’t know if the bought and paid for pols in Congress can be scared off it again after the November vote, no matter how many phone calls they receive. It’s be tougher than last time to stop amnesty for all.
