One of my workers drove his newer Toyota down to Mexico last year. He said the gas made it run like $h!t.
I don’t know if I want my car to get Montezuma’s Revenge...
You are absolutely correct. Back in the early 80’s we went down to Mexico to run the Baja 500 race. Decided to just get Mexican premium and add octane booster. Ha, ha. The morning of the race some smart ass in our crew read the rule book which stated any fuel with additives would need to be checked by the organizers. Had them check it and it was 82 octane, AFTER WE HAD ADDED THE BOOSTER!!!!!
They don’t have to make 50 different blends to satisfy Clean Air Act EPA demands. I’m sure that using Mexican gas is somehow in violation of California air quality rules.
Thanks. Not a lot of Chevron stations around here though. My little Toyota seems to do fine with what I give it though. We’re not talking about a high performance car here!

I understand that all Mexican gas contains IMODIUM. This is to protect gas siphoners ....

And what isn’t? The CARB is a monumental scam onto itself — all the botique gas we have — totally unnecessary. Buy Mexican gas...
Most likely this person teaches at the San Diego School of the Performing Arts. My daughter attended there when we lived in SD.

People are doing what they have to do to make it. Going across is happening at all the border towns. Expect the government to put higher car taxes on Americans driving back across soon. They can’t have this. Can’t have people happy. Must have laws...laws... and more laws. It was just like after 911. The BP was mandated to watch for.....Cipro....coming across.
My truck thought she had to have the “better” gas too. Regular is all she gets now and she runs fine.

A growing socialist bureacracy TRYING to feed itself....
you've got it amigo. Also factor in distance. Conservative estimates say that every mile you drive costs fifty cents. I guess if the gas is just a few miles away, and you don't care about the quality the Mex gas may be worth it. Otherwise people driving more than ten or twenty miles are losing money with added depreciation plus wear and tear.
These days my car should be grateful I put anything in it! I think twice before I go anywhere. Went to Austin for a few days at the end of the week and I shudder to think what it would have cost me if I still had my old Tahoe. I don’t know how people are doing it.
Chevron with that cleaning agent in it...yep, that’s what I heard too.
