Perhaps we should ask the Saudi’s to make up any shortfall with a tad of increased oil output.

Or perhaps we could drill our own dang oil. We forget that we get most of oil from Canada and Mexico. The Saudi’s putting out more oil will bring the world price down but won’t make more immediately available to us.

Why should the Saudis pump more oil than they want to — when the U.S. refuses to tap more of its own reserves.

Back in 2006, Canada agreed to a request by the U.S. to quintuple oil sands production — to enable exports of 5 MM bbl/d to the U.S. by 2015. We're on track to do that — unless U.S. based “environmental” organizations succeed in shutting down the projects.

If the U.S. doesn't have the political will to stand up to the “environmental” lobby & produce more oil from home — don't expect other countries to have a lot of sympathy. We all have our own “ANWRs”.

Suit yourselves — drill or don't drill — but, please stop whinging when other countries also exercise their sovereign rights to not pump more oil.

Perhaps we should ask us to pick up the slack and to with the Saudis.
