I suppose you're right about that. Ellsworth is in upper Southwark; still, that area is full of Italians and Poles and Jews and Swedes and English outside of the projects. As I recall the Post Office is between 10th and 9th on Ellsworth, and the St. Maria Goretti School and a large Catholic church. Also there is that Snockey's seafood on South 4th or 5th above Washington, and the Mummer's Museum at 2nd below Washington, and lots of string band clubs running south along 2nd below Washington. It's the projects from 5th to 7th above Washington that are the trouble spot. The whole thing is a damned shame.
We had a similar awful crime in Baltimore recently, of a young white newlywed guy walking home to a gentrifying area from the Canton entertainment district, and he was stomped into a coma for the hell of it by four black teenagers, He lingered in Johns Hopkins for four months and recently died. A white woman was beaten by a gang of black middle school kids on a Baltimore city bus. Naturally, this was not a hate crime. Then there was that subway platform beating of a white restaurant proprietor recently in Philly by a gang of five black youths who agreed among themselves to beat the next person they saw on the platform. They beat his head and broke several ribs before the platform cop arrived on a scooter, but the victim had a severe asthma attack from the broken ribs and died. All so they could "represent" as tough.
I fear we are just at the tip of the baby-mama iceberg.
Whew. That's a shame.
That's also why I nearly always carry a Seecamp .32 in my pocket, and always carry it when I'm in or near a Democrat parasite nest ("city").
“If you want to give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she is just numb with grief, fine. I hope youre right.”
Believe us, she’s in another world right now. If she’s like most people, she’s just barely putting one foot in front of the other at this point.
LOL! Nice one. As previously, I have enjoyed your input about Philly.
I miss the good parts terribly, but after living between the Delaware and the Schyulkill for three decades, our family was starting to show signs of PTSDand those were the days when the Rizzo-style of Democrat politics still had influence. I pity those who remain there in the present reign of terror that is Political Correctness.
I want to say to you that I am sorry for your unimaginable loss, and also am horrified at the callous attempts to politicize the mother's grief on this forum. God's peace be with you and your family.

Many thanks.
I’ve always been astounded that there are Freepers (or DUers or anybody else) who would actually criticize somebody in this mother’s situation for not reacting the “correct” way. There is no correct way.
“I havent seen a description of the perp yet.
That’s how I know he’s black.”
From the notoriously liberal Philly Inquirer:
“Police described the man they seek as black, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, with a medium build. He was wearing dark jeans, a white T-shirt, and white sneakers.”
Dang, there’s goes that “the MSM NEVER lists race if the perp is black” theory.
