Two weeks after breaking with his long-time church after pastors there made inflammatory and anti-American sermons, Democratic White House hopeful Barack Obama went to a new church on Sunday to discuss fatherhood.
Obama, accompanied by his wife Michelle and daughters Sasha and Malia, took part in Father's Day services near their house at the Apostolic Church of God -- a large, predominantly black church in the South Side of Chicago.
This was Obama's first time attending a church service since he announced last month that he had quit Trinity United Church of Christ, which he had attended for 16 years, as he sought to calm concerns about comments by pastors there.

In his 30-minute speech, Obama spoke about the particular struggles of African Americans and noted that more than half of all black children live in single-parent households.
"What I've realized is that life doesn't count for much unless you're willing to do your small part to leave our children -- all of our children -- a better world," he said.
"Even if it's difficult. Even if the work seems great. Even if we don't get very far in our lifetime. That's our responsibility as fathers and as parents."

The Obamas will search for a permanent church to attend as a family, although Obama said he would not likely settle on one until next year.

Presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama shakes hands at the Apostolic Church of God in Chicago, June 15, 2008.
Did Obama mention that 71% OF bLACK BAbIES ARE bORN WITHOUT dADDIES?
dID HE MENTION 56% OF kIDS WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEIR DADDIES BUT THEIR MOMMIES KILLED THEM THROUGH ABORTION!!
Did he say, “Who’s yo’ daddy?”
I don’t think he specifically addressed any of those issues but he did try to raise awareness about the national problem of stuck Caps Lock keys.....
He not going to a church where they is whitey’s there.
obama figures out what will buy him the most votes and sends it to the market of voters. Bill Cosby has been stating the truth for a decade and gets crapped on by the race-baiters.
Conservatives have been talking about these problems for years and have been called heartless, bigoted or worse for their remarks. We know the problem, Obama’s answer will be giving more power to politicians and increasing the size of government to “fix” these problems. Which of course will end up moving us closer to socialism.
CHANGE!

16 years? I thought it was 20.
When the savior speaks, the press listens. When Bill Cosby said the same thing, he was regarded as “controversial”.
Yet the gullible eat up every word this naivete inexperienced fellow has to offer.
Thank Gawd that George Sorrows has hired him some great speech writers.
Precisely. And while Cosby gets skewered for his statements the Zero is adored. Go figure.
The first black president should be a Jackie Robinson, not some second rate, fast talker. Every time he speaks I chuckle. Sad thing is that there are so many out there that are eating up this stuff.
I welcome the debate...but let’s make it clear. The democrats provided welfare checks to Black mothers that did not have a man in the household, in essence paying for the dissolution of the black family.
And he reads each word carefully just like he always does for every "speech" that is not extemporaneous. He will not and cannot "debate" McCain in a town hall style confrontation simply because he does not have the questions in advance for Soros' writers to prepare his platitudes in advance.
I find it very difficult to watch/listen to him in any venue because of his halting speech and reading style (head up, head down, head up, head down, etc). He does not have any original thoughts or expressions. Each position/platitude is carefully vetted before he is "allowed" in front of an audience and his positions are carefully scripted. All he has to do is read them!
Well at least he is now Jessie Jackson.
Or...........
Bill Cosby says the same thing and he’s villified.
Yes, he did actually.
