The antiChrist is mentioned in the Bible too but it doesn’t mean that Americans shold follow him (even if he is supposed to come bringing a “message” of peace).

Not just black, but “first of all black”. Like it’s the most important thing.

Some black conservatives think that’s more important than actually having a working philosophy, or any ability to actually do the job. Like affirmative action.

Unfortunately, with the Presidency, there’s nobody around to help pick up the slack if you pick an affirmative action hire.

the author defends Obama-and even his controversial former minister, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright-from conservative critics, and portrays him as a compelling figure for Christian voters.

Another nut like Kmiec and Peggy Noonan... There is nothing remotely "Christian" about the racial hatred and hatred of country spewed forth in Obama's "church".

The Religious Left concept is one designed to “win” the votes that they cannot get.

Obama played his hand at that meeting in SF that was leaked.

Those who “cling” to religion and guns are those who vote in opposition of abortion and the homosexual agenda (morals even some Democrats take a stand on) and guns are those voters who won’t accept a CHANGing definition of the 2nd Amendment. It wasn’t necessarily the same voters.

It was two blocks that don’t accept compromise on these issues.

The Religious Left tries to shift the argument away from the immorality of certain sexual relationships towards one of big state government IS charity.

They proclaim that it is God’s teaching that we provide healthcare for the poor. And housing. Etc. Etc. Except there is no choice in the charity. It is enforced by law.

And what if your religion is not the Christian charity of the Bible that the Religious Left politicians are trying to cite? Where is the opt out of this State religion?

They want to stand up there and say “we believe in God too and He wants you to support this program...”.

The Religious Right understands that there is Man’s world (government) and God’s world and that we are to honor God’s world while we live IN Man’s world.

The Religious Left is a false construct designed to win the votes of the same people the privately ridicule. Including President Obama...

McCain has made it clear that he does not like evangelical Christians and does not want their support, so Obama would be smart to try to win over this constituency.

"I'm looking at a guy who's first of all black and...who's a Christian...."

Two points: 1) Anybody who votes for BO because he's black is a racist.

2) Anybody who supports partial birth abortion is either not a christian or christian very much in need of repentance.

EXCEPT for abortion? That’s a pretty big “except”!

I think it does go to show though, if McCain starts caving on abortion to try to win over ‘moderates,’ or if he picks a pro-abortion VP, he might find himself losing this race. A lot of people are hanging on to voting for him by exactly that thread. If he cuts it, he’d be in big trouble. Guys like this would turn right around and vote for Obama. People like me might just write somebody in.
