I live in Minot. Oil and oil related support companies are BOOMING in this area. New shops springing up all the time in this once sleepy little town.

700 barrels per day. 300 wells. 210,000 barrels per day from all wells.
American consumption: 20,000,000 barrels per day. Bakken production: 1.05%
It’s a start, but there is a long way to go.

OK, it’s not offshore...there aren’t any polar bears or caribou around...the local population isn’t opposed to the drilling...how on earth are the Democrats going to stop this now?
To: upsdriver
Hamm said each well in the Bakken or the formation below it costs more than $5 million to drill. At $140 per barrel and 700 barrels a day, the well will pay for itself in less than 2 months.

More good news is possible.
Morning Bell: More Than ANWRThen there is the granddaddy of them all: the oil shale in Green River Formation, which goes through Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. According to a RAND Corp. study, there are 1.5 trillion to 1.8 trillion barrels worth of oil shale in the Green River Formation. That is more than triple the proven oil reserves of Saudi Arabia.
....snip....
Are liberals in Congress anxious to see this oil help American consumers? No. Just last week they voted to extend their ban on oil shale development.

well this is great news! South Dakota (Union County) recently approved the building of a new refinery. Those two need to get together and have lunch.

The client I'm working for is getting ready to rock n roll in the Bakken as soon as this deal is finalized next month. I've been researching up there for the past 3 months, and it's hot!
Drill Now!
