he got reelected because Harry Lee, a very, very, popular (although now deceased) Sheriff from neighboring parish basically endorsed him, sort of. He was running against a woman who appeared in Spike Lee’s doc “levees Break” slaming Harry for not allowing folks from Orleans Parish walking over the Miss. River Bridge after the flood into his parish of Jefferson. They had their own issues over there. He said he would rather Jefferson reelected than her, and said something about her needing to shut her trap or something to that effect. When Harry decided he didn’t like you you were dead meat politically. If he endorsed you, you were a shoe in. I loved Harry dearly, but I never quite quite understood that logic. Also, ACORN filed a lawsuit so dispersed “voters” from Houston and Atlnta could vote in that election. That’s not gonna happen this time.
But yes, Harry Lee was King. The evening before he died I drove down Jeff Highway past Oschner and saw ever NOLA media outlet parked out front and at that moment I knew Harry had lost his battle with Leukemia.
Maybe Obama will make him secretary of Treasury or something.... LOL Liberal lunacy at its finest on display and many here sleep right through it.

He didnt give a rats patootie what you thought, he wanted criminals out of JP. I remember he blocked a few streets off that went between Orleans and Jefferson or something like that and the good upstanding citizens got all up in arms, but no more vehicle traffic came through there.
