Fred would be doing the country a huge service. He’s worthy of our trust based on performance, unlike the presumptive Republican presidential candidate. If John listens to Fred he won’t go far wrong. If. I guess this is better than what might otherwise have been. The proof will be in the “pudding” as it were.

“In a McCain administration, former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson would play a dominant role”
Fred has always been in McCain’s camp.

Indeed I do. John listens to himself. Sadly.

VP would be dominant enough for me. Frankly I wish the ticket was reversed, but that’s the way it is.

Wonder if we can get McCain to hire Duncan Hunter to vet illegal immigrants?

Fred has always been in McCains camp. He was ever so helpful, in diluting the "yahoo" vote, early in the primaries.
To: clamper1797
Same here. It's the ONLY thing that would make me pull the lever for RINO "Maverick" McCain!

Fred has flat out said he will NOT be VP - on Hannity the other day he went through the litany - if drafted he won’t accept, if elected he won’t serve....he said he thought had might have had a moment when he could have had the top job but that didn’t work out. Absolutely not interested in VP.

I don’t think he’d be enough of a contrast to McCain to help much as VP - while he’s not as old as McCain, he actually looks even older, for one thing. But he will probably be excellent as an advisor, and then perhaps some position within McCain’s administration.

Bullcrap. Diluting it away from whom ? He WAS the only credible Conservative candidate in the field. The other asshats were liberals (save Hunter, and he wasn’t going to get the nomination).
