Nice to see that W has dispensed with that “new tone” crapola. Unfortunately, it took him nearly 8 years to do it.

Hammer time!
although there are Republicans who are complicit in the obstruction also. When there was a Republican Majority in congress, energy legislation should not have been a problem.
RIGHT???
The high cost of gasoline and heat is a consumer driven problem affecting ALL Americans. We have the numbers to speak up and be noticed. But apparantly the price of gasoline isn’t high enough to bother anyone but the poor. And the poor class is the ones the Democrats champion and embrace, and always consider as most important to the survival of America. /sarc

He should make an emergency proclamation tonight at 7:00 pm. He has the bully pulpit.

We should do everything we can to make this the pivotal issue in the coming election. It can be a big winner for the 'pubbies if McCain can change his mind on drilling ANWR. He should visit there, and come home to announce his change of heart.
The principal objection the left has to drilling the Continental Shelf seems to be that we might "spill it", we should be quick to point out that there were some 700 derricks in the gulf that were disabled by Katrina, and not one drop was spilled.

Excellent stuff. We need to do this every single day. This will be the end of it. The GOP and RNC are incredibly lazy and spineless.
They're stuck on "reaching across the aisle," and group hugs; and then get smacked every time. These Republicans are slow learners...

Too bad he didn't strap on his six-shooters, saddle up his horse, and come out guns a blazin' 7 years ago. The Repubs ought to be POUNDING the 'rats on doing whatever it takes to become fossil fuel independent NOW as a National Security issue. It is unacceptable that America is not in charge of her own destiny and that countries who are most certainly not our friends have us well and truly 'over a barrel'. Bottom line, despite all the Dem's empty bloviating about suing OPEC or putting pressure on OPEC, it's THEIR oil and they can and are invoking the 'Golden Rule': he who has the (black) gold makes the rules. One of the attendees at the OPEC summit was saying that America, at $4 a gal. is not paying enough for gas in comparison to what other countries like Europe are paying. He then suggested that at $4 a gal, the price is still too low to invoke 'conservation'. It is breathtakingly negligent and monumentally stupid for our country's so-called leaders to ignore a National Security crisis of this magnitude .... and even worse for 'we the people' to allow them to get away with it.

“There’s also an executive prohibition on exploration in the OCS, which I will lift when Congress lifts the legislative ban.”
the democrats already challenged him on that, why oh why does he not simply remove the executive prohibition?
To: Uncle Ralph
Executive order to open drilling now.
