Latest Electoral College Tally: Obama 317, McCain 194, Tied 27 (Florida)
Electoral-Vote.com ^ | June 22, 2008 | James Joyner

Compared to 2004, Obama would pick up Colorado, Iowa, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, and Virginia while McCain would pick up no states that George W. Bush didn’t carry. Further, McCain is barely leading in North Carolina, Georgia, and Nevada, all of which Bush won.

Then again, on this day in 2004, John Kerry was leading President Bush 285 to 249 and had slight leads in both Florida and Ohio. As you may recall, it didn’t turn out that way.

However, Obama seems to be running stronger than Kerry was this time in the cycle, with leads in states like Colorado and Virginia.

Who says there will be a debate? All I see is Obama trying to steer it to a format where he can memorize answers to the questions that are coming and any attempt to move it to a different format where he has less advantage being met with “McCain’s not wanting to debate.”

The last poll showed him down 12 in PA...No way he wins PA. CO and VA are going blue this year.

I think he has a lot better chance to win PA than VA. Once his plans to destroy our national defense become known, he will be dead in VA.

notice how he give Michigan to hussien even though just a single poll (rasmussen) has hussien ahead....yet the average of the polls has mccain ahead in the state....

meanwhile Florida is listed as a toss-up; even though the average polls has mccain ahead by 5pts and rasmussen’s most recent poll has mccain ahead by 8pts....

Really? All that much money, huh? I guess your man wins and we shouldn’t even bother showing up to vote.

Since I was born in Missouri, someone is going to have to show me evidence that Obama has a chance in that state.

I don’t buy that BS for one second!

McCain will lose in a landslide.

Not only is he a terrible candidate against a 'heart throb', liberal, messiah like B. (whose middle name must never be spoken according to McCain) Obama (where people faint just hearing him speak),,,,

don't forget the $4/gallon gas, the War, and just as importantly--

the huge 'demographic changes' over the last 4-8 years that CLEARLY and heavily favor the democrats.

It's going to be a really ugly election for conservatives across the board.

Juan McCain could not lose FL unless he tried. And he is perfectly capable of doing so ...

He will have to debate at some point and he will be caught without prepared responses. He is going to stumble badly several times before election day. Mark my words.

What is going on with VA? Is it you are going to see a huge black turnout or all the people moving into the DC area over the past years finally overwhelmed the more conservative parts of the state?

"It's going to be a really ugly election for conservatives across the board."

Not really. For REPUBLICANS the 2008 elections are going to be really ugly.

Looks like all the Former CAs, who for some reason forget the policies that lead them to leave CA in the first place, have turned NM and CO blue, with help from welfare state loving immigrants.
Can someone find me an example of a state turning blue to red because of migration? It seems we only see former NYers and CAers infecting other states with their leftism.

I would say that a Republican’s chances in Ohio are not good...

I disagree a bit. Sadly, the Conservatives have been branded as Republicans. This explains how the “fed up with Republican” sentiment of 2006 swept out some Conservatives along with them.

McCain is going to be the next President

Bravo for you. I have had my fill of all the negative posts on FR.

What’s positive about McCain being the next president?

It is all targeted to demoralize McCain supporters.

Hell, I'm already demoralized just thinking about McCain!
