Others lose wives and family members. They don't find therapy in attacking God, His children, gun owners, America, etc.
I'm not suggesting you're defending Carlin, but I'm of the opinion he was not a nice person at all. And some forums/posters keep going on about what a loss it is.
Why? Because he was famous?

Never said it was “OK” that he did that.
He was funny at times. Quite funny until about the mid 90s, even when I disagreed with his statements or his lifestyle. Just an observation.
You can find something funny without agreeing with it.

(I just paid $63 for gas. An icefield in Alaska is NOT the Grand Canyon. F--- the caribou.)

No, because he was
very, very funny.
Maybe you didn't like a lot of his routines or his take on God, etc. Me too, but when he was funny he was HILARIOUS. I challenge you to watch
the difference between football and baseball and not laugh.
You may not care about that. Well, fine, but to some of us comedy is an art like music or painting. And while I admit I don't agree with a lot of what he had to say, he was a comedic virtuoso. He was one of the first to skewer the politically correct, liberal and conservative alike. And for this I thank him, and hope his troubled soul found peace at long last.
