Schwarzenegger To Skip (47th Annual) Prayer Breakfast For McCain Energy Event

The governor's office said Schwarzenegger would skip a planned address to the 47th annual Capital Prayer Breakfast on Tuesday.

Instead, he will appear with Republican presidential hopeful John McCain at an environmentally-themed campaign event in Santa Barbara.

Organizers believe it is the first time a sitting governor has declined to address the annual gathering, although there is no official record.

State Assemblyman Rick Keene has organized the breakfast for the past three years. A spokesman for the Chico Republican, Evan Oneto, said Keene was saddened when he learned the governor would be a no-show.

Schwarzenegger spokesman Aaron McLear said the governor didn't want to miss the opportunity to talk about energy issues with McCain. He said the world's attention is focused on California's energy leadership.

Woudl you REALLY expect, PRO ABORTION, PRO HOMOSEXUAL, Arnie to REALLY care about skipping a “prayer breakfast”? That was a no brainer for Arnie. Surely he knows he is not on the same side as the Judeo Christian God.

McCain really believes he can win without the Republican base. Amazing.

Just worshiping at a different altar, folks.

What about McCain would make you believe that he would feel comfortable at a Prayer Breakfast?

This is the same man who went after Conservative Christians when he lost the 2000 election.

There ain’t too much of the Spirit of God in that man’s heart.

McCain has about the same chance to carry Califa as Obambi has to carry Utah . He should spend no money and no time there , especially with the Gropinator .

Of all the people who I’d like to have John McCain’s ear on energy policy, Arnold Schwartzeneger is not one of them. At all.

I agree with you.

He’s certainly ignoring his Christian base as well.

The godless are his target.

I live in a dark blue state so my vote does not matter, but I have contributed $$$ until recently.

After the conventions when he is far down in the polls, he may wake up. The key to these presidential campaigns are those that work hard to get the vote out, especially in close states. Independents and undecideds do not do that.

Were I in Gov Arnold’s shoes, I’d probably decide matters the same way he has. We must win in Iraq.

You mustn’t be very intelligent if you can’t see you’ll be electing Obama. Just by not being the self-styled messianic marxist Barak Obama, McCain should have earned your vote.

What makes you think McCain had any idea about the CA prayer breakfast scheduling? Let me guess: you think he should’ve made a stop there and because he didn’t you’ll refuse to vote for him?
