Dr. James Dobson responds to a speech made by Barack Obama in which the presidential candidate, while discussing the role of religion in government, compares Dr. Dobson to political activist the Rev. Al Sharpton. Dr. Dobson also updates listeners on the battle to preserve traditional marriage in Arizona, and pays tribute to late broadcast journalist Tim Russert. Joining Dr. Dobson for a discussion of these important issues are Focus on the Family President Jim Daly and Tom Minnery, Focus' Vice President of Public Policy. "76 percent of the [American] people identify themselves as Christian ... [but Barack Obama is] diminishing the idea that people of Christian faith have anything to say." - Tom Minnery
Thanks for posting.
I disagree. Obama attacked Dobson therefore a response from Dobson is appropriate.
Sure, Obama pleases his leftist base with fights with Dobson. But they’re going to vote for him enthusiastically anyway while social conservatives are lukewarm about McCain (at best). If Obama keeps this up, he might just get a big turnout of social conservatives voting for McCain to stop him.
I went to the Focus on the Family link and listened to the audio. For those who know Biblical eschatology, the gist of Obama’s speech we should recognize as what we see described in Daniel and other places about the antichrist.
His statements about the Old Testament and the sermon on the mount, indicates he is the one that has been listening to “screeds instead of sermons.”
Had he been in a church that actually preaches the Bible instead of listening for 20 years to Wright’s leftist rants, he would not be making these theologically convoluted statements.
Nothing is more basic in Christianity than the relation of the Old Testament to the New Testament. The events in Acts and the teachings of the epistles all swirl around it. If Obama had a real Bible pastor he would know these things - instead, all he knows is Marxist “screeds.”
“Screeds instead of sermons” indeed.
I can watch that film over and over again.
“Gentleman! No fighting please!! This is the War room”!!!
Yes, but Obama was making it sound like the bible says its OK.
Obama is a complete goober. Just because he buys into “The Notion” that you can twist the bibles meaning to reflect what you want ala Rev Wright doesnt make it so.
